Uttarakhand will be the first state in the country to implement the new education policy.
Uttarakhand Education Minister Dhan Singh Rawat has said that Vedas, Ramayana and Gita should be taught in schools across the state.
According to the new education policy, the syllabus of students should be prepared based on Indian history and traditions. Local folk languages should be encouraged along with Veda Purana and Gita.
Uttarakhand will be the first state in the country to implement the new education policy. “Soon a new syllabus will be prepared and the provisions under the new education policy will be stamped in the cabinet meeting,” the education minister said.
