The Uniform Civil Code was implemented in Uttarakhand on Monday in what was a massive move by the Pushkar Singh Dhami government towards fulfilling its poll promise of bringing the law in the state.

The newly launched UCC portal, ucc.uk.gov.in, lets the residents of the state to register online for several services relating to marriage and live-in relationships.

The government has made the registration process simple and user-friendly.

Steps To Register On UCC Portal:

Visit ucc.uk.gov.in – the government’s official portal for UCC.

  • Click on ‘Apply Now’ button to initiate the registration process.
  • Enter your Aadhaar number or virtual ID for authentication.
  • Give no-objection on three aspects which are slated mandatory.
  • Provide the OTP you received on your registered mobile number.
  • Submit the required details to complete the registration process.
  • Notably, CM Dhami became the first person to register his marriage using the UCC portal on Monday.

Residents who prefer offline registration can use their mobile numbers instead of Aadhaar. An OTP will be sent to the provided mobile number to complete the registration process.
