Two Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel were killed, and two others were injured in an attack by armed militants in the Naransena area of Manipur’s Bishnupur district in the early morning hours of Saturday, police said.
The incident happened between midnight and 2.15 am, police added. The armed groups fired a bomb at the personnel, which then exploded inside the outpost of the security forces.
The personnel belonged to the CRPF’s 128 Battalion deployed in the Naransena area.
“The militants fired indiscriminately from hilltops, targeting the camp. It started around 12.30 am and continued till about 2.15 am. The militants also hurled bombs, one of which exploded in the outpost of CRPF’s 128 battalion,” a senior police officer told news agency PTI.
