The Delhi Police filed its first FIR under section 285 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The case was registered in the Kamala Nagar market. Times Now is in possession of the FIR copy – the first registered by the police under the new criminal law.
The three criminal law have come into effect post midnight.
The sections under Indian Penal Code (IPC) has now been replaced by Bhartiya Nyay Sanhita
All the FIRs of the cases will now be lodged under section 173 of the Bhartiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) instead of under section 154 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC), officials said.
