Actor Rajpal Yadav has received death threats from Pakistan, Mumbai Police revealed on Thursday, adding that the sender posed as a member of Lawrence Bishnoi gang. According to the Police, the threat mail sent to Rajpal Yadav had photos of Baba Siddique and Sidhu Moosewala.
Amboli Police Station senior inspector Sadashiv Nikam said that the IP address of the sender has been traced to Pakistan. “Rajpal Yadav has received a threat email originating from Pakistan. The IP address (of the email sender) has been traced to Pakistan’s Punjab province, and we are investing the matter to get more details,” Nikam said.
“The sender of mail has posed as a member of Bishnoi gang. The mail also had photos of Baba Siddiqui and Sidhu Moosewala in attachment,” he added. An FIR has been lodged complaint by Rajpal Yadav and further investigation is underway, he said.
Jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi has been accused of being involved in the murder of both Sidhu Moosewala and Baba Siddique. Singer Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, who was popularly known as Sidhu Moosewala, was shot dead in Punjab’s Mansa district on May 29, 2022.
A court in Punjab has framed charges against Bishnoi and 26 others in connection with Moosewala murder case. Meanwhile, prime accused Satinderjit Singh alias Goldy Brar, is yet to be arrested and charges have not been framed against him.
Former Maharashtra Minister and NCP leader Baba Siddique was shot at and grievously injured on October 12, 2024, near his MLA son Zeeshan Siddique’s office in Nirmal Nagar in Mumbai’s Bandra area. The Congress-turned-NCP leader died some time later in nearby Lilavati Hospital.
According to the chargesheet filed by the Mumbai Crime Branch, Lawrence Bishnoi gang had plotted the plan to kill Siddique. The chargesheet named 26 arrested and 3 wanted accused, including Lawrence’s younger brother Anmol Bishnoi.
