Many feel insecure about their bodies especially after watching the celebrities that have perfect skin and toned physic. As much important as it is to take care of your health, it is also vital to love yourself. In an exclusive chat with Zoom Digital, Priyamani spoke about feeling confident in one’s skin, body positivity, and more
There is not even a single day when we are not wowed by seeing those perfect bodies and airbrushed skin on social media or silver screen. It takes literally no seconds to compare ourselves to these beauties and feel insecure.
Well, as much important as it is to stay healthy and take care of our body’s well-being, it is vital to engage in self-love and not self-loathing, feels Priyamani, The Family Man star who has always been vocal about body positivity.
Priyamani has been in the industry for a very long time. Talking about the hardships she faced, the actress said, “Honestly, the initial hardship was that I didn’t have a godfather or help. It was all based on instinct and the help from my family and husband. Even now we all sit together and decide on what to do and what not to do. The initial hardships were that whatever films I would do would, it would take a year or a half to release owing to some technical issues, etc. Since 2017 it has been a super smooth sail.”
Priyamani has always been vocal about body positivity. She often encourages her fans to love their bodies and not entertain the pressure to look a certain way.
“I would not say go for a heavy workout. But being happy is of utmost importance. It is okay even if you are a plus-size person. Focus on what is needed rather than just browsing on your phone and doing nothing. Shell some time out to do what you love and take care of your health positively. Engage in a light workout or just do some household chores to get the body moving,” she said.
Talking about the message she wants to give to the women who are struggling with body image issues, she said, “Women and girls need to be confident in their skin. The first step to self-love is having confidence.”
