The resolution comes less than a week after he against the need for the medical entrance exam during his maiden speech. On October 27, he delivered his maiden public speech eight months after announcing the launch of TVK.
Recalling his deceased sister, he said that just like her death had impacted him, the alleged suicide of medical aspirant, S Anitha from Ariyalur in the state who could not clear NEET, also had a profound impact on him.
On July 3, days after the Tamil Nadu Assembly passed a resolution urging the Union government to abolish the controversial medical entrance examinations, NEET, actor and the leader of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), Vijay, criticised the NEET examinations and urged the departments of education and sanitation to be moved back to the State list from the Concurrent list.
Vijay said this while speaking at the second leg of TVK’s special meet-and-greet to honour students who topped in the recently-held 10th and 12th-grade examinations. The event was held at the Ramachandra Convention Center in Thiruvanmiyur, Chennai.
Resolutions Passed By TVK
On Sunday, TVK also passed resolution against DMK Govt over law and order situation in State, saying the crimes that happen in broad daylight only show the apathy. Rather than working towards abolishing the sales of illicit liquor and increased usage of drugs among youth, the govt is only focused on the welfare of certain people in power.
The party also passed resolution condemning the idea of One Nation, One Election. Says ONON is against Democratic Values. The party also said, “the Union Government’s desire to impose a third language against the two language formula that’s being followed in Tamil Nadu will never succeed.”
