Kangana Ranaut Reacts To India Name Change Row: ‘Freed From A Slave Name, Jai Bharat’

After megastar Amitabh Bachchan, actress Kangana Ranaut has reacted to a proposed resolution to rename India as Bharat. In fact, the actress shared an old post of her statement in which she had called for the abolition of the name India.

On Tuesday, Kangana took to her official X account and re-shared a user’s post which had a screenshot of her 2021 news article. Two years back, Kangana had said that ‘slave name’ India should be abolished and the country should be called ‘Bharat’ instead.

Kangana wrote, “And some call it black magic …. It’s simply Grey matter honey 🙃 Congratulations to everyone!! Freed from a slave name … Jai Bharat.” She also added an emoji of Indian flag along with the caption.

Kangana took to her Koo account and wrote in 2021 that the country cannot progress if it remains a ‘cheap copy’ of the Western world.

She wrote, “India can only rise if it’s rooted in its ancient spirituality and wisdom, that is the soul of our great civilisation. The world will look up to us and we will emerge as a world leader if we go higher in urban growth but not be a cheap copy of western world and remain deeply rooted in Vedas, Geeta and Yoga, can we please change this slave name India back to Bharat.”

The feud between Kangana Ranaut and Karan Johar is not a secret. The former has often bashed KJo or his films and accused him of promoting nepotism. The filmmaker has also said that he does not want to work with Kangana. However, despite everything, the Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani director has now hinted at a possible patch-up with Kangana Ranaut.

In a recent interview with Indian Express, Karan Johar said that he is excited to watch Kangana’s Emergency. Asked if he would ever like to make a film about a political event, the filmmaker mentioned Kangana’s political drama Emergency and said, “The emergency is being made and I am excited to watch it.”

Interestingly, Karan Johar’s comment comes six years after Kangana Ranaut appeared on his chat show Koffee With Karan and called him a ‘movie mafia’. Since then, the actress has often attacked Karan via social media. Earlier this month too, Kangana Ranaut made headlines when she took a dig at filmmaker Karan Johar for his recently released film Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. Kangana shared a series of stories on her official Instagram account, attacking KJo for his old statement about how one can change the box office status of a film through PR. “Karan Johar ji is saying that I can get anything done by throwing money… I can build any perception… Do they only make their films hit, do they honor themselves or do they make others negative PR and flop their hit films?” she had written.

Actress-filmmaker Kangana Ranaut’s ‘Emergency’ will be releasing in theatres on November 24, this year. The announcement video also marks 48 years since Prime Minister Indira Gandhi declared Emergency in India.

As she shared the teaser of ‘Emergency’, she wrote, “A protector or a Dictator? Witness the darkest phase of our history when the leader of our nation declared a war on it’s people.#Emergency releasing worldwide on 24th November.”

Talking about the film, Kangana said: “Emergency is one of the most significant and darkest chapters in our history that young India needs to know. It is a crucial story and I want to thank my super-talented actors like late Satish ji, Anupam ji, Shreyas, Mahima, and Milind for embarking on this creative journey together.” “I am excited to bring this extraordinary episode from India’s history to the big screen. It’s not like I am calling them terrorist, our country, Home Ministry and, other countries as well have called them so.”

The Queen actress further added, “If you think ISIS is not a terrorist outfit despite its declaration then you are also a terrorist. I am talking about those people who think it’s attacking them, not ISIS. If you think it’s attacking you then you are a terrorist. Maine kuch nahi kaha bhai, ye simple maths hai.”

Following this, Kangana Ranaut made a shocking allegation against Karan Johar.
