A police team that rushed to the spot where a two-month-old was found dead and stuffed into a broken microwave oven at a Chirag Dilli house was told by the neighbours that they heard the mother of the child thrashing her elder child, a four-year-old son, around 3pm.
“They said that when they went to check on the woman and her son, they found that the woman was not responding. The woman’s husband and other members of the family were at a grocery shop which they run close to the house. The neighbours then alerted the family members and all of them broke open the door,” said a senior police officer.
The officer said that when the neighbours went in, they found the woman lying on the floor, unconscious. She was then rushed to a hospital. Meanwhile, the family members realised that the infant was missing.
