A 19-year-old NEET aspirant from Viluppuram allegedly died by suicide after her father scolded her over an OTP mistake while applying for an Other Backward Class (OBC) certificate. According to reports, the student’s father had gone to a government centre to complete the application process. When he called her for the OTP, she gave him the wrong code twice. Though he eventually managed to submit the application, he allegedly reprimanded her after returning home.
Initial reports suggested that exam pressure led to her death, but police have denied this, as per a report in NDTV.
