Sonakshi Sinha responds to Mukesh Khanna’s remarks on her KBC appearance, calling his comments ‘distasteful’ and a disrespectful attack on her upbringing.
Sonakshi Sinha has sharply criticised Mukesh Khanna after his viral remarks about her upbringing and a past appearance on Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC). Khanna, best known for his role as Shaktimaan, had commented on an old KBC episode in which Sonakshi failed to answer a question about Lord Hanuman. Reflecting on the incident, Khanna blamed her father, veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha, for not imparting cultural knowledge, despite being a prominent figure in the entertainment industry.
In response, Sonakshi shared her thoughts via Instagram stories, expressing her displeasure with Khanna’s remarks. “I recently read a statement you made saying that it’s my father’s fault I did not answer a question about the Ramayana correctly on a show I attended many, many years back,” she wrote. “Firstly, let me remind you there were two women on the hot seat that day who did not know the answer to the same question, but you choose to keep taking my name, and only my name, for reasons which are quite obvious.”
Sonakshi clarified that her mistake on KBC was simply a “human tendency” to blank out, noting that she forgot who the Sanjeevani Booti was brought for. “But clearly, you have also forgotten some of the lessons of forgive and forget taught by Lord Ram himself,” she added. She drew a parallel to Lord Ram’s capacity to forgive even his adversaries, suggesting that Khanna should do the same regarding her harmless slip-up.
The actress further warned Khanna to stop bringing up the incident for attention, reminding him that she responded to his criticism respectfully due to the values instilled by her father. “The next time you decide to say anything about the values my father has instilled in me… please remember it’s because of those values that I have only said what I said, very respectfully,” Sonakshi asserted.
