‘Sincere’ Pushkar Singh Dhami gets a second term, unanimously chosen as the CM of Uttarakhand

Dehradun: Pushkar Singh Dhami will continue as the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said that Pushkar Singh Dhami has been elected as the Leader of the Legislative Party in Uttarakhand.
“I congratulate him, I am confident that under his leadership Uttarakhand will make rapid progress,” Singh said after Dhami was appointed as the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand.
Earlier, BJP legislators took the oath of office at a ceremony held in the Uttarakhand Assembly in the state capital today. The saffron party created history by storming back to power for an unprecedented second successive term in the hill state.
Despite his election defeat, Dhami was the frontrunner for the top post. It was speculated that the BJP leadership was set to re-appoint Dhami as Uttarakhand CM due to his ‘sincere’ image and he helped in keeping the party together. He is reportedly credited with doing a commendable job despite BJP being on the back foot after two chief ministers were changed ever since it assumed power in 2017.
