Shubman Gill set a massive record in the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) after leading the Gujarat Titans (GT) to a seven-wicket victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). The 25-year-old hit his 25th 50+ score in IPL history with a knock of 61 in 43 balls. Gill has made four centuries to his name in his career in the cash-rich league.

Shubman Gill was the star of the show as the Gujarat Titans (GT) continued their brilliant start to the 2025 Indian Premier League with a seven-wicket victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Sunday (April 6) at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Hyderabad.
The 25-year-old made an unbeaten knock of 61 in 43 balls with nine boundaries at a strike-rate of 141.86. Gill put up valuable partnerships with Washington Sundar (49 of 29) and Sherfane Rutherford (35 in 16) to ensure the Titans chased down the target with 21 balls to spare.
This was Gill’s first half-century of the season, after some bright starts. The GT Skipper has 146 runs in four innings at an average of 48.66.

This is the 25th 50+ score by Gill in his IPL career having hit four centuries and 21 half-centuries. The star batter has become the youngest player to reach a quarter of 50+ scores in the IPL and the first to do so at the age of 25. Gill started his IPL career for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in 2018 (aged 19) and played for them till 2021 and made 10 half-centuries. Since joining GT in 2022, the Indian cricket team’s vice-captain has four centuries and 15 half-centuries.
Gill is also the only player with more than 3000 runs before turning 26, with 3362 runs at an average of 38.20 in 107 matches. Rishabh Pant is second on the list of most runs at the age of 25 in IPL history, with 2838 runs in 98 matches.
