Harbhajan Singh spoke exclusively to Times Now on women’s safety and urged people to come together to ensure the safety of women in the wake of Kolkata rape-murder case and ‘Me Too’ movement in Mollywood.

Harbhajan Singh urges people to come together against atrocities against women

New Delhi: Rajya Sabha MP and former cricketer Harbhajan Singh, while speaking about atrocities on women, said that he will rake up the issue in Parliament and ensure that there is strict law against this. His remark comes at a time when a trainee doctor’s rape and murder triggered massive protests. On the other hand, the Malayalam film industry is rocked by ‘Me Too’ moment with big actors and directors facing sexual assault allegations.
In an exclusive interview with Times Now, he said, “Shame on us if we cannot keep our women safe. Their safety needs to be first priority. If our daughters are not safe here then what are we doing. If incidents like Kolkata keep happening, it’s a shame.”
“As a man, it is unacceptable to me that this is how women are treated in this country. As An MP, I will take this up in the Parliament and ensure there is a strict law against this. We should wake up and get the justice done, it is high time.”
What Harbhajan Singh Said On Mollywood ‘Me Too’ Moment
He further spoke about the explosive sexual harassment allegations against big icons in the Malayalam film industry and said that people need to come together to protect women. His remarks come in the wake of the ‘Me Too’ row that has hit Mollywood. Several actresses and female artists have come out to speak against the sexual harassment they faced in the industry. Big name like Riyaz Khan, Ranjith, Siddique, Jayasurya and Maniyanpilla Raju.
