Bhagwant Mann has declared that the Punjab anti-corruption helpline will be his personal WhatsApp number.
Chandigarh: Bhagwant Mann-led Aam Adami Party (AAP) government in Punjab has announced that it will launch an anti-corruption helpline in Punjab on the occasion of Shaheed Diwas on March 23. The government has already declared a holiday on the Shaheed Diwas (Martyr’s Day), which is observed to pay tribute to freedom fighters Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev Thapar, and Shivaram Rajguru.
Bhagwant Mann took oath as Punjab Chief Minister in Khatkar Kalan, the native village of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, and has urged people to visit the village to pay tribute to the late freedom fighter. Earlier today, the Punjab Assembly also passed a resolution to install the statues of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar and Bhagat Singh.
Only AAP can clean system: Mann
Earlier, while announcing the decision to launch an anti-corruption helpline in order to curb the corruption in the state, Mann had said that the helpline will enable people to expose corrupt officials in the state. Mann had said that the anti-corruption helpline in Punjab would be his own WhatsApp number, where people will be able to share videos and audio proof regarding corrupt officials.
