According to a report in The Indian Express, Shubman Gill, KL Rahul, Axar Patel, Ravindra Jadeja, Yashasvi Jaiswal Suryakumar and Kuldeep Yadav have been asked to play in the Duleep Trophy.
Not just Rohit and Kohli, but the report says that Shubman Gill, KL Rahul, Axar Patel, Ravindra Jadeja, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Suryakumar and Kuldeep Yadav have also been asked to feature in the tournament.
Ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah will not be playing the Duleep Trophy since he has been an extended rest period after IPL 2024 and the T20 World Cup, essentially to manage his workload.
The selectors are all set to discuss Bumrah’s inclusion for the two Tests against Bangladesh as India have a gruelling 10 Tests line-up in the next four months including five crucial ones in Australia.
The Duleep Trophy is supposed to be played in Anantapur in Andhra Pradesh and since the place isn’t connected by flights, BCCI is mulling the possibility of playing one round of the tournament at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
