Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a special gesture on Monday by arriving at Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi to receive the Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad AL Thani, at the Palam Technical Airport in the national capital on Monday. The Prime Minister described the Qatar Amir as his ‘brother’ and wished him a fruitful stay in India.
The Prime Minister was accompanied by External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar. PM Modi and H.H. Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani shared a warm hug as they met each other.
Taking to X, PM Modi said, “Went to the airport to welcome my brother, Amir of Qatar H.H. Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani. Wishing him a fruitful stay in India and looking forward to our meeting tomorrow.”

The Qatar Amir is on a two-day state visit to India. He is accompanied by a high-level delegation, including ministers, senior officials and a business delegation. He had earlier come to India on a State Visit in March 2015.
