Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given instructions to the Gujarat government to ensure that there is “no deficiency” in former finance minister P Chidambaram’s treatment. The senior Congress leader fainted on Tuesday while attending a prayer meeting at Sabarmati Ashram in Ahmedabad.
In a press release, the Gujarat BJP said, “When former finance minister and senior Congress leader P Chidambaram came to Gujarat to participate in Congress party’s national convention, his health deteriorated. Prime Minister Narendra Modi came to know about the entire development”
“Although he is holding the post of Prime Minister, as a Gujarati considering it his responsibility without indulging into party politics that no guest who has come to Gujarat faces any difficulty; and in that regard, Union health minister J P Nadda was immediately telephoned and informed to consider ill health of P Chidambaram and to ensure that there is no deficiency in his treatment,” the press release added, as per The Indian Express.
Thereafter, Nadda dialled Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and state BJP president C R Paatil and asked them to instruct state health minister Rushikesh Patel to make sure that no deficiency is there in the treatment of Chidambaram, the Gujarat BJP said.
