Pakistan MP Abdul Rehman Kanju attended the Chautala family’s Diwali celebration in Haryana, marking INLD’s recent election victory.
A felicitation ceremony organised by the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) was attended by Pakistan MP Abdul Rehman Kanju. The ceremony was organised in Chautala village in Sirsa to celebrate the victory of two INLD legislators in the 2024 Haryana Assembly elections, both from the Chautala family. The INLD shared posts on social media showing the warm welcome given to Kanju, who was the chief guest.
INLD leaders Arjun Chautala and Aditya Devilal Chautala won the Rania and Dabwali constituencies, with a margin of about 50,000 votes in each respectively.
The event coincided with Diwali, sparking discussions among locals about a Pakistani MP attending an event in the village.
Kanju expressed heartfelt thanks to Chautala villagers for their warm reception, saying, “I am overwhelmed with their love and warmth.”
He further shared, “I lost my father at an early age”, acknowledging the Chautala family’s support through difficult times.
He extended Diwali greetings to villagers and wished a long life to former Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala. Addressing the audience, Kanju said, “I appeal to the youth to always respect their elders as they are our guiding force.”
