On the occasion of Ram Navami, a grand Deepotsav was organised in Ayodhya, with over 2.5 lakh diyas lit to celebrate the birth anniversary of Lord Ram.
A video from the event shows large crowds gathering at the ghats along the banks of river Ganga, lighting the diyas. Colourful rangolis were also displayed as part of the celebrations.
Additionally, the Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department organised various cultural programmes, including art exhibitions, to mark the occasion.
BJP MLA Ved Prakash Gupta told news agency IANS, “Today is a special day for all the people of our country. The message of Sanatan Dharma is resonating across the world. Today, the entire country and the world are celebrating the birthplace of Lord Ram. The people of Ayodhya are delighted, excited, and filled with enthusiasm. Ayodhya is once again thriving.”
Earlier in the day, the ‘Surya Tilak‘ ceremony for Lord Ram took place at the Ram Mandir. A large number of devotees gathered at the temple to offer prayers and seek a glimpse of Lord Ram on this special day.
Tight security arrangements were made in Ayodhya for Ram Navami. According to administrative sources, over 10 lakh devotees congregated to welcome the birth of Lord Ram and seek his divine blessings for prosperity.
