In his podcast debut with Zerodha co-founder Nikhil Kamath, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was asked about viral memes featuring him and Italy Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.
“PM Sir, as we are talking about other countries, if I may digress a little, I must say my favourite food is pizza, which originates from Italy. People often say that you know a lot about Italy. Would you like to share something about it? Haven’t you seen those memes?” Kamath asked the Prime Minister.
To this, the Prime Minister responded, “Wo toh chalta rehta hai. Main usmein apna time kharab nahi karta.” He further added that he is not a foodie and eats whatever is served to him.
“I am not a foodie. Whatever is served in any country, I eat happily,” PM Modi said, adding that if given a menu, he wouldn’t be able to order food. He recalled that he always relied on late BJP leader Arun Jaitley to order food for him. “It just needed to be vegetarian,” he said.
Earlier, Meloni had shared an image with Prime Minister Modi from the COP28 Dubai Summit. She posted the image with the caption, “Good friends at COP28,” with the hashtag ‘#Melodi’. The hashtag has been created by combining the surnames of the two leaders.
