Union Home Minister Amit Shah criticised Rahul Gandhi in the Rajya Sabha, accusing him of ignoring development in Jammu and Kashmir. He highlighted the Modi government’s zero-tolerance policy against terrorism, citing the 2016 surgical strike and 2019 Balakot airstrike, contrasting it with the previous government’s alleged inaction on terror threats.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday trained guns on the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, while addressing the Rajya Sabha on counter-terrorism operations and development in Jammu and Kashmir. “If someone is sitting with kaala chashma (black glasses) on, how is it possible to show them the development?” Shah asked, taking a swipe at the Congress leader, according to ANI.
The Union Minister also spoke about Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra in Kashmir, saying that the latter had claimed to see terrorists from afar.”Arre bhai, nazar mein hi aatankwadi hai toh sapne mein bhi aayega aur Kashmir mein bhi” (If someone has terrorists in their mind, they will appear in their dreams as well as in Kashmir), Shah said.
Further launching his attack on the opposition, Shah slammed the previous dispensation for failing to take action against terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir.
“Terrorists used to enter Kashmir from the neighbouring country, they used to execute bomb blasts and murders here. There was not a single festival that could be celebrated without worry. Central governments had a flexible attitude. They remained quiet and were scared to speak. They were worried about their vote bank,” Shah said.
