Just two days after Pahalgam terror attack, Indian Navy’s INS Surat destroyed a sea-skimming target in a precision drill. The Navy described the moment as a milestone.
Just two days after the deadly Pahalgam terror attack, the Indian Navy seems to be sending a message to Pakistan after its guided missile destroyed wrecked a sea-skimming target in a precision drill. Sharing the video, the Indian Navy wrote on X: “#IndianNavy’s latest indigenous guided missile destroyer #INSSurat successfully carried out a precision cooperative engagement of a sea skimming target marking another milestone in strengthening our defence capabilities. Proud moment for #AatmaNirbharBharat!”

This also comes as India announced that it will speed up the launch of its spy satellite EOS-09 in the wake of the terror attack in Pahalgam’s Baisaran Valley, that left 28 dead and over 60 injured. The dead also include two foreign nationals – one from Nepal and another from the United Arab Emirates. Videos going viral online show terrorists shooting down tourists execution-style, after identifying them as non-Muslims.
PM Narendra Modi has vowed tough action against the perpetrators of the attack – which is amongst the deadliest in the Valley in recent times.
“I strongly condemn the terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. Condolences to those who have lost their loved ones. I pray that the injured recover at the earliest. All possible assistance is being provided to those affected. Those behind this heinous act will be brought to justice…they will not be spared! Their evil agenda will never succeed. Our resolve to fight terrorism is unshakable and it will get even stronger,” PM Modi said in a tweet.
India has taken a slew of counter measures in the wake of the attack, including suspending the Indus Water Treaty and shutting down the Attari-Wagah border, and cancelling all Pakistani visas from Sunday. Till now, it was only for Pakistanis on SAARC visas.
It also ordered all Pakistani nationals to leave India within 72 hours. Medical visas are valid till April 29.
India has also urged all Indians living in Pakistan to return home and has advised against any travel plans to Pakistan.
Pakistan, meanwhile, has washed its hands off the attack, blaming India instead. Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif said Pakistan has “nothing to do with it”, and instead blamed the unrest in Kashmir and Manipur for the attack.
