A MNS worker was seen slapping and pushing a seemingly elderly woman over a petty dispute in the Kamathipura area of Mumbai.
A video of a Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) worker slapping, pushing and abusing a seemingly elderly woman in the Kamathipura area of Mumbai on August 28 has come to light. Three workers of the party have been arrested over the matter.
The MNS worker, identified as Vinod Argile, hit the woman allegedly over installing a bamboo stick in front of the woman’s shop without her consent.
“They slapped me and hit me. Yes, I did (on being asked if she has gotten a case filed). Police are probing. They wanted to install a banner outside my shop, I declined and told them to install it somewhere else, so they hit me… no woman should go through this,” the woman said.

The woman objected to the installing of the bamboo stick in front of her shop for an ad. When she objected it and asked Vinod to remove it, he hit her and pushed her twice.
A girl standing nearby helped the woman stand up after the man pushed her. The MNS worker in the end of the video even threatens her to bring whoever she wants to remove the bamboo stick.
After the video went viral, the matter was reported to the police.
According to the Mumbai police, a non-cognizable offence has been lodged at Nagpada Police Station against the MNS worker.
MNS Mumbadevi Vibhag pramukh, Keshav Mulye, defended Vinod Argile and said that he hit the woman in self-defence.
“Argile hit the woman in self defense. We regret the incident. Our opposition is trying to spread lies against us,” Mulye said.
MNS leader Keshav Mulay further added, “ The viral video depicting Vinod Argyle is not complete. We’re not supporting it. MNS respects women, but that woman kicked our party’s banner and abused our party workers, which is edited out. Vinod Argyle also has temper issues. We have faith in the judicial system.”
