Mukesh Khanna shared an incident when Kapil Sharma ignored him during an award function. Despite being seated next to each other, Sharma did not say hello to him. “In our industry, even if we have not worked with each other, we ask each other, ‘Kaise hai aap sir?’. He kept sitting next to me for 10 minutes. It’s not that I want him to say hello, but I say you have no courtesy,” added Khanna.
Veteran actor Mukesh Khanna recently slammed Kapil Sharma’s comedy show and called it “obscene.” He also shared an incident when the comedian ignored him during an award function; despite being seated next to each other, Sharma did not say hello to him.
Talking to Siddharth Kannan on his podcast, Mukesh stated that his first interaction with Kapil was when he was seated next to him at an award function. “I had bagged an award for best-supporting actor. He also appeared there, maybe he was shooting somewhere there in the film city. Now, in our industry, even if we have not worked with each other, we ask each other, ‘Kaise hai aap sir (how are you, sir) ?.’ It’s a gesture.”
Further, Mukesh Khanna shared that despite never working with Amitabh Bachchan, he always makes it a point to ask him how he is doing whenever they meet. “Forget my seniority, he (Kapil) kept sitting next to me for ten minutes but he didn’t even say ‘hello!’. It’s not that I want him to say hello but I say you have no courtesy,” added Khanna.

Sharing the reason for declining to be a part of Kapil Sharma’s show, Mukesh said that the comedian never contacted him, could be because of his “ego” and “shame.” He said that the show’s jokes are heavily based on “ashlilta” (indecency) and “below the belt jokes,” which he finds inappropriate.
