THE WIFE of UnitedHealthcare’s CEO and police sources have claimed he was being threatened before he was fatally shot in a targeted attack.

“There had been some threats,” she told NBC News.
“Basically, I don’t know, a lack of coverage? I don’t know details. I just know that he said there were some people that had been threatening him.”
A police source also confirmed to The New York Times that Thompson was the subject of multiple threats and that cops are investigating exactly what they were and where they came from.
Thompson was shot just after 6:45 am while he was walking into the New York Hilton Midtown, according to the New York Police Department.
Harrowing video taken by Fox affiliate WNYW showed cops desperately performing life-saving measures before racing the CEO to Mount Sinai West Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 7:12 am.
Thompson was heading to the hotel early to prepare for an investor conference that was starting at 8 am.
The suspected shooter wasn’t a hotel guest but was seen milling around the entrance until Thompson arrived, cops said.
The suspect then reportedly opened fire, shooting Thompson twice in the back and calf before bolting from the scene and getting on an e-bike.
The gunman has been described as a light-skinned man wearing a cream-colored jacket, black face mask, and black and white sneakers.
