Pawar quipped that he would not wait and would take oath after after the Shiv Sena chief maintained suspense over taking oath as deputy CM. Soon the video of the banter went viral on social media.
Laughter broke out during the press briefing when one of the reporters asked Shinde whether Deputy CM would also take oath along with CM-elect Devendra Fadnavis. Replying to the question, Shinde said that they should wait till the evening.
Pawar was very quick to respond to Shinde’s reply and jokingly said, “Sham tak unka samaj aayega, main to shapath lene wala hoon, main intezaar nahi karunga (you will get to know about Shinde’s decision till evening,, I will take it (oath), I will not wait.)”

During the press conference, Shinde said that the Mahayuti government is being formed in a healthy atmosphere.
Meanwhile, during the press briefing, Fadanavis said that the CM post is only a “technical arrangement”. He said that leaders of the ruling Mahayuti alliance, comprising the BJP, Shinde’s Shiv Sena and Ajit Pawar’s NCP, will work together.
The oath-taking ceremony will take place on Thursday at 5:30 pm. “We have met the Governor and handed over the letter of support to stake claim to form the government in the state. Our alliance partners Shiv Sena and NCP have requested the Governor that I should be sworn in as Mahayuti CM…Governor accepted all the requests and invited us for the oath ceremony tomorrow at 5.30 pm,” Fadnavis said.
