Khatron Ke Khiladi 14 winner Karanveer Mehra speaks about winning the Rohit Shetty show and his possible participation in Bigg Boss 18.
Actor Karanveer Mehra emerged as the winner of Khatron Ke Khiladi 14 on Sunday. The finale for the Rohit Shetty-hosted show was graced by the cast of Jigra – Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina. Defeating Shalin Bhanot, Gashmeer Mahajani, Abhishek Kumar, and Krishna Shroff, Karanveer took home the trophy and a car.
As he emerged as the winner, Karanveer spoke exclusively with Indianexpress.com about his journey. He even commented on the entire Asim Riaz fiasco stating that he could have won the trophy if he had the right attitude. The KKK14 winner also called Shalin his ‘frenemy’.
Karanveer Mehra said, “The feeling has still not sunk in, before leaving I said this…But once I reached there, I learned that the competition was very strong. Everyone wanted to win it, but I was the chosen one. The journey was so mind-blowing that I would want to go on the next season for free. I am happy that I was the best amongst the best.”
When asked how life has changed for him, Karanveer shared, “I just want to do good work, whether it is a reality show or fiction, this has just highlighted my personality. Professionally, I have more choices now, more people are coming in to work with me and know me.”
Throughout his journey on Khatron Ke Khiladi 14, Karanveer Mehra came across as someone who is very sensible and smart. He had the same stance even in the entire Asim Riaz fiasco. Considering that was one of the highlights this season, we asked Karanveer for his take on Asim. The actor said, “When we had returned from Romania and I was asked this, I had said, ‘Who Asim and who is he?’ But I somewhere feel bad for him because he is stuck in this character. The fans who are supporting him should be more responsible. They should know when somebody is not in the right space; they shouldn’t support him.”

“He is living in this La La Land, where he feels he is somebody who will make it big in life or has already done so. If he didn’t have that attitude, may be Asim would have won the trophy. He was that strong. If your mind frame is right, you can do wonders. But if it is not…poor guy, he was the first one to be out. He didn’t deserve to be the first one to go out,” Karanveer added.
The Khatron Ke Khiladi 14 winner also spoke about the friendships he has made on the reality show. “Friendships that I carry from this show are Abhishek, Krishna, and Shalin. Shalin and I are more like frenemies. We like to put each other down.”
