After a loud explosion near a CRPF school in the Prashant Vihar area in Rohini sparked a security alert in the national capital, the cops are probing a possible Khalistani link in the blast. A multi-agency probe was launched to determine the reason behind the explosion and apprehend the perpetrators.
Police said they were probing a possible Khalistani link to the incident after a post circulating on social media claimed that the explosion was in retaliation to the alleged targeting of Khalistani sympathisers abroad. The claim was made by Justice League India using a clip of the blast with a “Khalistan Zindabad” watermark at the bottom and circulated on social media platforms.
Canadian PM Justin Trudeau had accused India of having a hand in the killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar. Further, a former Indian government employee has been accused by the US of plotting the assassination of Gurpatwant Singh Pannun. Both Nijjar and Pannun have been designated as terrorists by the Indian government. Social media posts alleged that the blast was to take revenge for the “failed” assassination bid on Pannun and the motive was to give a message by carrying out a non-lethal attack outside the CRPF school.

Teams from the National Investigation Agency (NIA), National Security Guard (NSG), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Delhi Police cordoned off the area and forensic experts collected samples from the site to ascertain the cause of the explosion which was reported at around 7.50 am on Sunday.
