On Saturday, an exchange of gunfire between terrorists and security forces was reported in Saynal village of Kathua near IB.
Terrorists had attempted to take a couple into hostage but failed as the lady ran away forcing terrorists to release her husband. The couple informed the villagers about the movement of terrorists and later same was reported to security forces who moved quickly and engaged the terrorists.
Officials said that the operation was suspended late in the evening due to low visibility but terrorists seem to have managed to change their location.
During the search and combing operation, security forces recovered ammunition, clothes and eatables left behind by terrorists.
