Devaraje Gowda had alerted the BJP leadership about Prajwal Revanna’s sexual atrocities through a letter. The Karnataka government ordered an SIT probe after explicit videos of sexual abuse of several women by Prajwal were widely shared on social media.
The case was registered against Devaraje Gowda last month. According to sources, the police action against the BJP leader came after they got inputs that Gowda was planning to evade arrest. “The cops have found evidence against him. They picked him up last night suspecting that he was trying to abscond,” a source said.
In her complaint to the police, the woman claimed that Gowda sexually harassed and physically assaulted her under the guise of offering assistance in a case related to her property.
The victim alleged that he threatened to kill her and her husband if she made the matter public.
According to reports, Gowda had alerted the BJP leadership about Prajwal Revanna’s sex clips through a letter. The BJP leader has however denied these reports. Gowda contested against HD Revanna in the 2023 assembly election.
