She had a rough start to her morning.
Jennifer Aniston was photographed filming “The Morning Show” in New York City on Sunday and had to endure a blast of fake oil.
Photos snapped of the Emmy winner, 55, show her character, Alex, making her way through what seems like a staged protest when an unknown assailant tosses the greasy black liquid on her.
Dressed in a sleeveless white blouse and khaki flared pants, Aniston’s costume was completely ruined as she made her way through the angry mob.
It’s unclear what the group was rallying against, though signs read, “Extinction Revolt.”
The Apple TV+ drama recently earned a slew of Emmy nominations — including Outstanding Drama Series and Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for both Aniston and her co-star, Reese Witherspoon.
“The Morning Show” is set behind the scenes of a fictional news program based on Brian Stelter’s book about the morning show wars, called “Top of the Morning,” involving Katie Couric, Matt Lauer and other key players in the industry.
“I have so many thoughts … I thought some of it was really interesting, and I think the long-term impact and the serious devastation that results from certain behaviors was quite well represented, or quite well conveyed in that,” Couric said on the podcast “Everything Iconic with Danny Pellegrino” in April 2020.
“I think Jennifer Aniston is great. … I wish they had made her more charismatic because I think you need a certain ebullience to pull off a show like that,” Couric continued.
