Istanbul Airport Chaos: IndiGo Flights Take Off Hours After 400 Left Stranded, Consulate Informs

IndiGo’s Istanbul-Mumbai flight took off on Saturday after hours of delay that left 400 passengers stranded at Istanbul airport. The flight to Delhi has been cancelled and alternate arrangements are being made for flyers.

After hours of delay that left 400 Indian passengers stranded at Istanbul airport, IndiGo’s Istanbul-Mumbai flight finally took off on Saturday. On the other hand, the flight to Delhi has been cancelled and the airline is making an alternate arrangement for the passengers.
Social media platforms were flooded with multiple posts of passengers complaining about the poor service of the airline and the lack of clarity as to why the passengers were being made to wait so long.
IndiGo’s 6E 11(Istanbul to Delhi) and 6E 18 (Istanbul-Mumbai) flights were delayed which left passengers stuck at the airport.

Reacting to the chaos, IndiGo said that its executives are available at all contact points to assist customers. “We are aware of the delays on the IndiGo flight connections to Istanbul. We accord the highest priority towards customer convenience and out teams are available at all contact points to assist customers. IndiGo apologises for the inconvenience caused to the customers,” it added.

“Due to technical issues, IndiGo flights from Mumbai and Delhi to Istanbul experienced delays. This led to cascading delays in the return sectors. All necessary steps were taken to ensure customers were apprised, and they were provided with refreshments and accommodation, where possible. We regret the inconvenience caused to customers and appreciate their understanding and patience,” IndiGo further said.
IndiGo said it cancelled flight 6E 12, operating from Istanbul to Delhi, due to a technical issue.
Alternative aircraft have been arranged to transport passengers to their destination, it said, adding “We sincerely regret the inconvenience caused and appreciate their understanding in this matter.”
