The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday predicted a fresh spell of heatwave conditions over parts of northwest and central India for three days, beginning Sunday.
Maximum temperature in many parts of the region is expected to be over 42-44 degree celsius. On Saturday, the highest maximum temperature of 45 degree celsius was recorded at Barmer in west Rajasthan.
Issuing its forecast on Saturday, the India Meteorological Department said a rise in maximum temperatures by 2-4 degree celsius (roughly over 40-42 degree celsius) is very likely in the region during the next three days. The remaining parts of the country may, however, not see any significant change in the maximum temperature during this period.
