Gurgaon rains: Golf Course Road, where a DLF flat was sold for Rs 100 crore, is in waist-deep water

Gurgaon rains: A 11,000-square foot DLF apartment on Gurgaon’s Golf Course Road was sold for more than Rs 100 crore in a resale on October 2023. Despite the huge amount of money people spent on luxurious amenities, visuals shared on social media show the Golf Course area completely underwater.

Last October, an 11,000-square foot apartment at The Camellias by DLF on Gurgaon’s Golf Course Road was sold for more than Rs 100 crore in a resale. The deal was compared with those in New Delhi’s posh localities, which are among the priciest properties in the country. On Monday, the same locality was in waist-deep water following overnight rain.

Most homeowners who bought apartments in The Camellias would have paid between Rs 18 crore at the launch in 2014 and more than Rs 40 crore in more recent times. Moreover, getting the interiors done would have cost them more than Rs 5 crore. According to brokers, properties near The Camellias in Gurgaon that do not face the golf course are priced at over Rs 15 crore. Despite the huge amount of money people spent on luxurious amenities, visuals shared on social media show the Golf Course area completely underwater — not unlike several other pockets in the national capital region whose real estate prices are only a small fraction of the Golf Course Road rates.

According to the district administration, Gurgaon received 53 mm of rainfall by 8.30 am while some areas recorded over 80 mm of rainfall.
