Forbes put out their annual list of the richest billionaires in the world on Tuesday, including a number of people you’d expect to see at the top like Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos.
But who are some of the other wealthiest billionaires? What about the richest woman in the world? Which billionaire is the youngest to make the list? And who didn’t make the list this year?
Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, still holds the No. 1 spot with a net worth of $219 billion. Bezos was ranked just behind him with a net worth of $171 billion, while Bernard Arnault and family — who own and operate LVMH Moët Hennessy, Louis Vuitton SE — are third on the list with a net worth of $158 billion. Bill Gates and Warren Buffett rounded out the top 5, with $129 billion and $118 billion, respectively.
There are only 327 women billionaires on the list this year, down one from 2021, out of the 2,668 total billionaires. Francoise Bettencourt Meyers, granddaughter of the founder of the beauty company L’Oréal, retained her top spot for the second straight year with a net worth of $74.8 billion. Overall, she and her family are the 14th richest people in the world.
The second wealthiest woman in the world is currently Alice Walton, daughter of Walmart founder Sam Walton, with a net worth of $65.3 billion. Walton held the top female spot in 2020 before Bettencourt Meyers topped her last year.
Julia Koch and her children own a 42% stake in Koch Industries, giving her a net worth of $60 billion, good for third on the Forbes list. While Bezos’ ex-wife MacKenzie Scott is the fourth richest woman in the world with $43.6 billion, and has donated more than $12.5 billion to philanthropic organizations in less than two year.
