Delhi faces persistent air pollution with very poor to severe AQI levels across several areas. The coming week will see clear skies with smog and fog during mornings and evenings, and temperatures ranging between 24-26 degrees Celsius during the day and 10-12 degrees Celsius at night.
Residents of Delhi-NCR continue to wake up to smoggy, dark mornings with a noticeable chill in the air during the early hours. Those venturing out today can expect a mainly clear sky, with shallow to moderate fog or smog in the morning and evening. Winds from the northwest will prevail at speeds of 4-12 km/h throughout the day. According to CPCB data recorded at 6 AM on Saturday, the overall Air Quality Index (AQI) for the national capital stood at 370, placing it in the ‘very poor’ category.

According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) bulletin at 4 PM, Delhi recorded an average AQI of 412 on Saturday, ranking it as the most polluted city in the country. By 7 PM, 17 monitoring stations reported severe air quality, with Wazirpur emerging as the most polluted area, registering an AQI of 440.
An AQI between zero and 50 is considered “good”, 51 and 100 “satisfactory”, 101 and 200 “moderate”, 201 and 300 “poor”, 301 and 400 “very poor”, and 401 and 500 “severe”.
