Nearly two months after a controversial social media showing off the firecrackers he had bought for Diwali, a Delhi man has taken to X to complain about “unhealthy air”. Madhur Singh, known online as the Placard Guy, was shown the mirror after listing out everything that he thinks is wrong with India.
“A country where instead of corruption, lawlessness, poor quality of roads, unhealthy air and water, employment, the biggest national issue is ‘How dare you say anything about Baba Saheb’, is truly beyond hope. Politicians will keep fooling us and we’ll keep getting fooled,” the influencer wrote.

One of the issues, as implicitly pointed out by an observer, was his own doing.“*unhealthy air*. The audacity of these [redacted] doesn’t even surprise me anymore,” Noor said in a tweet featuring a screenshot of the Diwali-crackers post.
Singh’s October 26 posting wasn’t received particularly well, with a casteist slur used by him drawing much of the pushback.
It didn’t take long for social sleuths to dig up his cognitive dissonance. As it turns out, a day earlier, Singh had made comparisons between the air quality in Goa and Delhi.
