This isn’t the first time Srivastava has bought properties belonging to Dawood Ibrahim’s properties. In 2020, he purchased Dawood’s ancestral home in Khed for Rs 11.2 lakh
Delhi-based lawyer Ajay Srivastava grabbed headlines after he successfully secured two agricultural plots previously owned by the mother of fugitive terrorist Dawood Ibrahim, Amina Bi, in an auction held in Khed taluka of Ratnagiri. The auction on Friday saw no takers for two additional plots linked to Amina Bi.
The most remarkable transaction was for the smallest plot among the four, covering an area of 171 sqm and initially priced at a reserve of Rs 15,440. Astoundingly, Srivastava bought the plot for just over Rs 2 crore, which was 1300 times the reserve price of the land.
This isn’t the first time Srivastava has bought properties belonging to Dawood Ibrahim’s properties. In 2020, he purchased Dawood’s ancestral home in Khed for Rs 11.2 lakh. Explaining the reason behind his eye-popping purchases, Srivastava revealed, “I have set up a sanatan dharma pathshala trust and want to start a hostel for the students of the sanatan school. I had also bought the adjoining land from the open market in 2017-18,” he told TOI.
When questioned about the significantly high bid on a plot with a modest reserve price, Srivastava attributed it to numerology. He claimed that the survey number of the land, his birth date, and the quoted price collectively formed a numerological alignment in his favour. Notably, he mentioned a similar strategy in acquiring Dawood’s bungalow in 2020.
In a parallel auction, Srivastava secured another agricultural land, covering an area of 1,730 sqm, with a reserve price of Rs 1.56 lakh. Three participants were involved in the bidding, ultimately clinched by the Delhi lawyer for Rs 3.3 lakh.
