The Delhi Health Department said that directions were issued to stock anti-viral drugs and a kind of syrup used for children.
Delhi’s Department of Health and Family Welfare on Thursday held a meeting with some doctors and experts over cases of respiratory illnesses in China. The preparedness of Delhi government hospitals in light of the infections was also reviewed.
“We are keeping a close eye on infections coming from China. This is a new infection. Tests will be conducted at Delhi government’s Rajiv Gandhi Hospital and Chacha Nehru Hospital,” the Delhi health department said in a statement after the meeting.
It also said that directions were issued to stock anti-viral drugs and a kind of syrup used for children.
“There will be seasonal flu or influenza in January but no need to worry. There is no need to panic as we have not detected any new infection yet,” the statement added.
