CSK vs SRH: Ruturaj Gaikwad completes 1000 IPL runs, equals Sachin Tendulkar's elite record

IPL 2022: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) opener Ruturaj Gaikwad has completed 1000 runs in the Indian Premier League by virtue of his half-century vs Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). Gaikwad has reached the feat in 31 innings and equaled a long-standing record of Indian batting legend Sachin Tendulkar. This match sees MS Dhoni’s return as CSK’s captain.

After a run of poor form in the 2022 Indian Premier League (IPL), Ruturaj Gaikwad has shown his class once again in the clash between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA) Stadium with a sublime half-century.

On his return to playing XI, New Zealand batter Devon Conway has given Gaikwad solid support with the pair putting up CSK’s highest opening partnership of the season. In fact, the opening duo have put up a 150-run partnership.

Gaikwad has played some breathtaking shots to the delight of the Pune crowd. By virtue of his knock, the CSK opener has completed 1000 runs in the IPL. He has taken just 31 innings to complete the feat making him the joint-fastest Indian ever to reach the milestone. He has equalled Indian batting legend Sachin Tendulkar’s feat, who had also taken 31 innings to reach the milestone while playing for the Mumbai Indians (MI).
