NEET-UG 2024 Row Updates: The Supreme Court will hear a batch of pleas today, July 8, related to irregularities in the medical entrance exam NEET-UG 2024. The exam was held on May 5 with a re-exam for 1563 students who were awarded grace marks on June 23. The SC will now be hearing a batch of almost 40 pleas seeking direction to conduct a fresh exam. A three-judge bench comprising Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud and Justices J B Pardiwala and Manoj Misra is scheduled to hear a total of 38 petitions related to the NEET UG 2024, reported PTI. The Centre and the National Testing Agency (NTA), however, had filed affidavits against the demand for the cancellation of the exam stating that scrapping NEET UG 2024 exam held on May 5 would be “counterproductive” and “seriously jeopardise” several students in the absence of any proof of large-scale breach of confidentiality.
NEET UG 2024 Hearing Updates: CBI Questions Three Accused Arrested From Patna
A CBI team has left for Delhi with three accused of NEET paper leak case — Sikandar Kumar Yadavendu, Amit Anand and Nitish Kumar, who were lodged in Beur Jail of Bihar. A warrant was issued by Delhi’s Royce Avenue Court for the appearance of these accused. The three accused are being questioned rigorously in Delhi as well. These three accused were arrested by Patna Police in May. Sikandar Kumar Yadavendu is a suspended junior engineer of the Bihar government. He was arrested by the Shastri Nagar police station during vehicle checking. The name of Sanjeev Mukhiya, the mastermind of the paper leak scandal, came to light only after questioning Sikandar Kumar Yadavendu and Patna Police then made Sanjeev Mukhiya a main accused in the FIR registered by them.
NEET UG 2024 Hearing Today: Irregularities in CUET UG Too?
NTA on Sunday said that it will “redo” the Common University Entrance Test (CUET-UG) exam “if any grievances are found to be genuine”. The announcement was made via an official notification issued by the agency while releasing the provisional answer keys for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET-UG). The NTA notification says that the test will be retaken between July 15-19 for such candidates under the Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode.
