Special Judge AA Sayed was informed by the CBI today that it was not seeking any further custody of the three accused for interrogation.
A Mumbai court on Thursday remanded former chief executive officer (CEO) of ICICI Bank Chanda Kochhar, her husband Deepak Kochhar and Videocon Group chairman Venugopal Dhoot to judicial custody till January 10, 2023 in the Videocon loan case.
The three had been arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in relation to the case and was under the CBI custody till today.
Special Judge AA Sayed was informed by the CBI today that it was not seeking any further custody of the three accused for interrogation.
The agency instead prayed that the accused be sent to judicial custody for 14 days.
The judge then remanded the trio to judicial custody till January 10.
The Kochhars were arrested on December 23 in New Delhi and produced before a Special CBI Court in Mumbai on December 24. They were remanded to CBI custody till today.
Dhoot meanwhile was arrested on December 26.
Chanda is accused of cheating and irregularities in relation to a loan of ₹3,250 crore granted in 2012 to the Videocon Group, which became a non-performing asset for the ICICI Bank.
