Aditi Rao Hydari and Siddharth got married in an intimate ceremony on Tuesday, March 26. Their wedding ceremony was held at the Sri Ranganayakaswamy Temple Mandapam in Srirangpur, Telangana. The couple is expected to make an official announcement soon.
Aditi and Siddharth, who had been in a relationship for some time, got married in a low-key ceremony, surrounded by their close friends and family members. It has been reported that priests from Tamil Nadu were called upon to officiate their wedding.
Additionally, the chosen venue for the wedding holds significant sentimental value for Aditi’s family, as her maternal grandfather was purportedly the last ruler of the Wanaparthy Sansthanam.
Meanwhile, official pictures and further details are awaited.
For the unversed, Aditi and Siddharth began dating each other after they collaborated on the Tamil-Telugu film ‘Maha Samudram’ (2021). Irrespective of the speculations, the duo kept their relationship private for a while. However, the couple is often seen together at film premieres, award shows and private get-togethers.

Akshay Kumar spoke about his string of 16 consecutive flops at the trailer launch of ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’. However, he emphasised on his resilience and determination to continue working.
Akshay Kumar, who will be next seen in ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’, spoke about the time he faced 16 consecutive flops in his career. The actor was at the trailer launch of his upcoming film, where he spoke about the lukewarm response his recent films such as ‘Selfiee’ or ‘Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue’ have received. Akshay also mentioned that facing so many flops at one go didn’t deter him. Instead, he just ‘stood there’ and kept on working.
Akshay Kumar spoke about the poor box office performance of his latest films and said, “We keep on trying for every kind of film. I don’t stick to one kind of genre. I keep on jumping from one genre to another, whether there is success or no success, that’s how I have always worked from the beginning of the career and nothing has stopped me. I’ll keep on doing it; something that is social, good, comedy or action.”
“I will always keep on doing different kinds of (work). I won’t be sticking to one kind of thing because people say, ‘sir, aaj kal comedy and action bohot chal rahe hai (I am told comedy and action is working these days)’. It doesn’t mean I should only do action. I myself start getting bored if I do one kind of thing and keep on trying something new. Whether it was ‘Toilet Ek Prem Katha’, ‘Airlift’ or ‘Rustom’, or many other films that I have done; sometimes success is there, sometimes it’s not”, he added.
He also addressed the time he faced multiple flops in his career and how he braved it, “It is not that I have not seen (this phase before), there was a time when I had 16 consecutive flops in one go in my career. But I stood there and kept on working and I’ll still do that. This is one film this year for which we all have done lots of hard work and now we are going to see the results. We hope this is going to bring good luck to all of us.”
Sunil Grover has opened up about his fight with Kapil Sharma and joked that it was “a publicity stunt” they did for Netflix long before the streaming giant set foot in India. The duo has reunited after seven years for The Great Indian Kapil Show. Ahead of the show’s premiere, Kapil and Sunil sat down for a press conference and addressed the infamous fight. Sunil poked fun at their now-ended feud and said that it was all pre-planned years ago.
“We were seated on the flight and we learnt that Netflix was coming to India. So, kuch aisa ho ke (acha) publicity stunt ho,” Sunil said, poking fun at his and Kapil’s fight.
Sunil even joked that Netflix India had called them to ask what could be done and thus, this idea came to them.
Kapil further said that Sunil was also busy with a number of projects. He was doing several series and projects so we couldn’t reunite, Kapil revealed. Sunil then said that his comeback felt like homecoming as he enjoyed working with Kapil and his team.
The teasers have already revealed that Sunil will be returning as Gutthi. In the first episode, he will be seen teasing Ranbir Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor.
Anjali-Sufi call off wedding, take down gift registry after backlash
Anjali Chakra and Sufi Malik were accused by a section of the internet of scamming their followers by demanding wedding gifts even after calling off their wedding. Anjali, one half of the Instagram-famous former-couple, has now issued a clarification saying their wedding gift registry was only meant for guests and never shared online with their Instagram followers.
Anjali Chakra and Sufi Malik are a US-based same-sex couple — of Indian and Pakistani origin respectively — who rose to social media fame around five years ago. The couple announced their breakup earlier this week, citing infidelity on Sufi’s part. News of the breakup came as a shock to the couple’s followers as it happened just weeks before they were due to tie the knot.
Soon after the announcement, some eagle-eyed social media users noticed that Anjali and Sufi had registered themselves on a wedding gift website.
In some countries, a wedding registry is a service provided by a website that allows an engaged couple to list the gifts that they want from guests. This system prevents the couple from receiving unwanted or duplicate gifts.
It’s okay I’m not the only one going to hell if I’m the inspiration for Reddit posts. pic.twitter.com/tv0Snlv8qs
In Anjali and Sufi’s case, the couple registered themselves on Zola and asked guests to contribute to their honeymoon fund, among other things. When social media users noticed the registry was still up despite the wedding having been called off, they accused the influencers of scamming their guests.
Virat Kohli spent the last two months outside India as his wife Anushka Sharma gave birth to their second child, son Akaay.
Away from cricket, Virat Kohli spent some quality time with his family as his wife Anushka Sharma gave birth to the couple’s second child, son Akaay. Virat decided to give the entire 5-match Test series against England a miss to be with his wife, a decision that remained in debate among fans the entire series. As Kohli resumed his cricketing duties, joining the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) squad, he admitted that it was a surreal experience to spend some time away from the game, with his family.
It was rumoured that Anushka and Virat were in England during the former’s pregnancy with the second child. After his match-winning 77 against Punjab Kings on Monday, Kohli confirmed that he was outside the country for a couple of months.
“We were not in the country. We were in a place where people were not recognising us. Just time together as a family, just to feel normal for two months – for me, my family – it was a surreal experience. Of course having two kids, things become totally different from a family perspective. Just the ability to be together, the connections you make with your older child.
“Couldn’t have been more grateful to God for the opportunity to spend time with the family. It’s an amazing experience to just be another person on the road and not be recognised. That’s the promise I can give here – I’ll keep turning up and keep trying me best,” said Kohli.
During the post-match chat, Kohli also spoke about his future in the shortest format, lodging a sharp attack at those who have been debating his place in the forthcoming T20 World Cup.
“I know my name is now attached to just promoting the game in different parts of the world when it comes to T20 cricket. I’ve still got it I guess,” he said with a cheeky smile.
“I don’t play for these Caps anymore. That’s the promise I can give here — I’ll keep turning up and keep trying me best.” He was a trifle disappointed that he couldn’t finish the game.

Kanye West’s chief of staff, Milo Yiannopoulos, demanded in a letter that the rapper be referred to as Ye and not his “slave name.”
“Ye is one of the most recognizable people in the world, on par with presidents and popes,” the letter obtained by Page Six read.
“He didn’t take the decision to change his name, potentially sacrificing some of the immense value captured by the brand of ‘Kanye West,’ lightly. The change was made fully, legally, and permanently. This is who he is now. His name is Ye.”
Yiannopoulos, 39, wrote that he is calling on “streaming platforms, publishers, stores, unions, lyrics websites and data resellers” to make the change since they are some of “the most visible places.”
“He has on several occasions referred to it as his slave name,” the letter continued. “Ye is a black man in America who wants the right to full self-determination just like everyone else.”

Madgaon Express Movie Review: Excel Entertainment set a new precedent for new-age buddy films with Dil Chahta Hai and then followed it up with Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara years later. The air of uncertainty looms large over Jee Le Zaraa but don’t worry because Madgaon Express is here. But truth be told, Kunal Kemmu’s directorial debut doesn’t quite fit into this list of modern day films about friendship because it’s so much more than that. While it definitely pays an ode to friendship, it also has drug lords and the world of crime and smuggling set against a not-so-glamorous backdrop of Goa seamlessly interwoven into the narrative, which renders the story a lot of novelty.
Madgaon Express is something that we’ve never seen before and thank god for that. In fact, it’s even tough to slot it into a certain genre. The film is whacky, loud and chaotic and unapologetically revels in its own eccentricities. The characters are all oddballs and you wouldn’t want to encounter most of them in real life. It almost feels like Kunal chose to tell a tale without adhering to any set structures of storytelling and yet there’s a method to the madness. It’s so all over the place and such an incredible hodgepodge of so many things that you can’t help but burst out into peals of laughter every now and then, and that’s Madgaon Express’ biggest win.
The film revolves around childhood friends – Ayush, Pratik (fondly known as Pinku) and Dhanush (referred to as Dodo by his buddies) – who aspired to take a boys trip to Goa since their school days. But they grow up and their lives take different directions with Ayush moving to New York and Pinku to Cape Town with his family. While they build credible careers and live their best lives, Dodo is stuck in Mumbai where he works as a pizza delivery boy.

But they grow up and their lives take different directions with Ayush moving to New York and Pinku to Cape Town with his family. While they build credible careers and live their best lives, Dodo is stuck in Mumbai where he works as a pizza delivery boy.
A few years later, they reconnect on social media and soon plan on a reunion by taking a trip to Goa. Thus begins the most adventurous trip that turns their lives upside down. It also gives them the opportunity to accept one another with all their flaws. While Ayush appears to be the sanest and most level headed of the lot, Pinku is an over-protected, hypochondriac and accident prone Gujarati man who hyperventilates over anything and everything. Dodo, on the other hand, is a typical jugaadu who ends up causing more harm than good every time trouble erupts.
Thrown into this mix are some zany characters like drug dealer Mendoza, smuggler Kanchan Kombdi and Tasha, a young girl who claims to have solutions to all kinds of glitches. Ayush, Pinku and Dodo get entangled in a cat and mouse chase as they get their hands on a bag full of cocaine on their way to Madgaon on a train with Mendoza, Kanchan Kombdi and Tasha adding to their sorrows.
Kunal deserves applause for knocking it out of the park with his very first project as a director. He pens a screenplay that’s all kind of hilarious and it is packed with oodles of funny one-liners, repartees and situations. There are hardly any jokes that don’t land. It’s delightful to see physical comedy make a re-entry to mainstream Bollywood and successfully managing to tickle our funny bones. Even with a runtime of 2 hours 25 minutes, Madgaon Express keeps you hooked throughout the tumultuous and tizzy ride with the narrative almost never dropping pace.

Eiza González almost went to extremes after losing out on roles for being ‘too hot’
Some actors go to great lengths to embody a character they’re playing in a movie or television show. For Mexican actress Eiza González, she contemplated making drastic alterations to her appearance to help her land a job.
“I remember being [told for] so many projects, ‘She’s too pretty for the role. She’s too hot for the role,’” the 34-year-old told InStyle. “Then I’d just be like, ‘What is Margot Robbie? She’s the hottest, most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen in my life!’”
“I had an identity crisis for a very long time,” she revealed. “I was like, ‘Do I shave my head? Do I make myself less attractive? Do I make myself more attractive? Do I not dress super-hot or do I dress super-hot or do I cover myself all the time?’”

It’s a bizarre dichotomy for González, who experienced the opposite treatment in Mexico as a young actress and singer.
The press would eviscerate her appearance, labeling her not pretty enough. Since adolescence, she struggled with eating disorders, exasperated by paparazzi who photographed her on the beach and captured her cellulite. González says it was the most terrifying moment of her life.
“I went through a lot of trouble with my body, with my curves, with my look,” the “3 Body Problem” star said. “It was really tough.”
But González always found solace in the fact she loved her craft. “The moment that I was acting and the moment that I was singing and the moment that I was on that stage, I was more alive than ever.”

Authorities in Noida claimed that popular YouTuber Elvish Yadav was part of a scheme to distribute snake venom at rave parties, allegedly to enhance his online popularity.
On Sunday (March 17), a local court arrested the Big Boss OTT 2 winner Elvish Yadav in connection with the snake venom case and sent him to judicial custody for 14 days. Noida police sources claimed that YouTuber Elvish Yadav supplied snake venom at rave parties in the National Capital Region (NCR) to increase his social media following and make money. Also, he wanted to show that he had swag.
Elvish Yadav Did This For Swag
“During questioning, Yadav did not accept the crime… but we have a lot of evidence. For him, it was to make a statement that he’s got ‘swag’ or ‘bhaukaal’. He wanted to paint a picture among his fans as someone who is completely unafraid of law-enforcement agencies and can do whatever he wishes,” said a police officer.
Police sources revealed that evidence of the use of snake venom was found in more than six parties linked to Yadav. Yadav was personally present at some of these parties. An official said,“Those who attended the parties in question are being identified; appropriate action will be taken against them for using the snake venom.”
About The Snake Venom Case
The case came to light on November 3 last year following a tip-off from People for Animals, an NGO headed by BJP MP Maneka Gandhi from Sultanpur. Following the tip-off, police arrested five people from a banquet hall in Sector 51 of Noida. Although Yadav was named as one of the accused in the FIR, he was not arrested at this point. The FIR stated in the case, “We received information that a YouTuber, Elvish Yadav, shoots videos with snake venom and live snakes in farmhouses in Noida and NCR along with other gang members/YouTubers and organises rave parties illegally.

“I have always operated from a space of ‘I’m not good enough, I don’t feel pretty, I don’t look like the other girls.’ So for me, it was a huge challenge. It was actually the first shot of “Oo Antava”… I was shaking from fear because sexy is not my thing. It’s not my thing. But how I’ve grown both as an actor and as a person is I’ve always made sure that I put myself in the most uncomfortable, unforgiving, very difficult circumstances,” Samantha said during the India Today Conclave.
The actress admitted that she did not feel very confident but decided to do Oo Antava because she wanted to explore something new. “I think that, for me, it was the lyrics. It was a challenge. And I think we can move past judging women for wanting to look good. We can do everything. We can look good,” she said.
However, when asked if she would do a dance number again in the future, Samantha made it clear that she would never do it. “No, I don’t see the challenge in it anymore,” she said.
Meanwhile, the shooting for Pushpa 2: The Rule is currently underway. The film, which stars Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna in the lead, will hit theatres on August 15 this year.
Rajesh A. Krishnan’s women-centric drama, also featuring Diljit Dosanjh and Kapil Sharma, is slated to hit the theatres on March 29
Fed up with their low-paying jobs, three air hostesses — played by Kareena Kapoor Khan, Kriti Sanon and Tabu — embark on a journey of thrill and adventure in the trailer of Rajesh A. Krishnan’s women-centric drama Crew, also featuring Bengali actor Saswata Chatterjee, dropped on Saturday.
The two-minute-forty-four second long trailer begins with the lead actresses sitting inside a police station as a female inspector storms in and questions them about stolen gold.
The subsequent clips shed light on their financial struggles as air hostesses with Kohinoor Airlines, a company that has gone bankrupt. While Kriti’s character is desperate for her Diwali bonus, Kareena’s struggles to pay her rent regularly. In the middle of these day-to-day challenges, a minister dies on their flight. In an attempt to awaken him, the three air hostesses find gold bars hidden inside his shirt.
Kareena, Tabu and Kriti approach their boss Mittal ji (Rajesh Sharma) and convince him to entrust them with the job of smuggling gold bars. Overcoming police inspection and other challenges on their way, the three air hostesses endeavour to smuggle the gold. However, at this point, they cross paths with a customs officer (Diljit Dosanjh). The air hostesses suspect that Dosanjh is aware of their mission. The trailer also features Kapil Sharma as Tabu’s love interest and Bengali actor Saswata Chatterjee as a multi-millionaire, the chairman of Kohinoor Airlines.
A perfect mix of humour and thrill, the trailer is full of sarcastic comments on socioeconomic disparities in today’s world. The trailer ends with Tabu putting her foot down as she convinces Kriti to pull herself together in the middle of a crisis. Snippets from the film’s Ghagra track play in the background along with a rendition of the Khalnayak song Choli Ke Peeche.
Shakira said she put her career ‘on hold’ during her 11-year relationship with the soccer star
Shakira opened up about prioritizing her relationship with her ex-partner, Gerard Piqué, over her career during their 11 years together.
The 47-year-old singer and the 37-year-old soccer star dated from 2011 to 2022 and share sons Milan, 11, and Sasha, 9. During a recent interview, Shakira reflected on how she gave up professional opportunities to spend time with Piqué while he was playing for FC Barcelona.
“For a long time, I put my career on hold, to be next to Gerard, so he could play football,” Shakira told The Sunday Times in an interview published Friday.
“There was a lot of sacrifice for love,” she added.
On March 22, the “Whenever, Wherever” hitmaker will debut her first new album in seven years, “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran (Women Don’t Cry Anymore).” Since her separation from Piqué, she released a handful of new tracks, but her last full-length studio album, “El Dorado,” arrived in 2017.
Shakira told The Sunday Times she spent most of the past seven years between her two albums raising her children in Barcelona. After splitting with Piqué, she moved to Miami with Milan and Sasha.
The three-time Grammy Award winner and the professional soccer player met when he made a brief cameo in her music video for “Waka Waka,” the official song of the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.
After sparking dating rumors, the two went public with their romance in 2011. Shakira and Piqué surprised fans when they announced their split in June 2022. Speculation of cheating began shortly after Shakira released the track “BZRP Music Session #53,” which many felt confirmed the soccer player had been unfaithful.
She later admitted she had been “betrayed” during an interview with People en Español. At the time of the split, her father had been “gravely injured” in an accident.
“Everything happened at once. My home was falling apart,” she told the outlet. “I was finding out through the press that I had been betrayed while my dad was in the ICU.”
Shakira told the outlet she did not think she was “going to survive” at one point.
“The man I have loved the most in my life, my father, was leaving me when I needed him the most,” she revealed. “I couldn’t talk to him or go to my best friend for the advice I needed so much.”
During her interview with The Sunday Times, Shakira shared her thoughts on the challenges of a romance between a musician and an athlete.

Half a world away from Hollywood, citizens in Hiroshima, Japan, reacted to the best picture win for “Oppenheimer”, the blockbuster that depicted the race to develop the atom bomb that devastated their city 78 years ago.
The biopic about physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer took in seven Oscars at Sunday night’s Academy Awards after grossing $954 million worldwide. But the film has yet to screen in Japan, the only country to have suffered nuclear bombing, with U.S. strikes on Hiroshima and Nagasaki near the end of World War Two.
“I myself would definitely like to watch this movie,” said Yasuhiro Akiyama, a 43-year-old teacher.
“I hope more people around the world who have seen the movie would want to visit Hiroshima and come to the Peace Memorial Park and the Atomic Bomb Dome,” he added.
“Oppenheimer” will finally open in Japan on March 29, about eight months after its debut. The opening last summer came just weeks before memorials of the blasts that claimed more than 200,000 lives.
Controversies over the film’s content, which some criticized as glossing over the human toll of the bombings, and marketing cast doubt on whether the film would get shown in Japan.
Many Japanese were offended by a fan-created “Barbenheimer” campaign online that linked the movie to “Barbie”, another blockbuster that opened around the same time.
Teruko Yahata, a survivor of the Hiroshima bombing, last week told Reuters that she was eager see “Oppenheimer” and hoped it would reinvigorate debate over nuclear weapons.
‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ executive producer Molly McNearney and Walt Disney TV alternative head Rob Mills share the behind-the-scenes scoop on how this year’s Oscars telecast went down
Just minutes before the Oscars were set to begin, the show’s producers realized they had a problem: Some of the year’s key A-listers and nominees weren’t inside the Dolby Theatre just yet. The perfect storm of traffic delays, pro-Palestine protests, the first day of daylight saving time and an earlier start time had contributed to the last-minute crunch.
“We were definitely stressed out, because we had to have certain celebrities in their seats,” Oscars producer Molly McNearney — also an EP on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” — tells Variety on Monday morning. “We talk to people in the monologue. And in order to for that to pay off, you want to see their reactions. We were still waiting on five or six people to get into their seats. It was definitely chaotic to get them all in quickly. So we pushed by five minutes, which didn’t feel like too much.”
Among the names mentioned in host Jimmy Kimmel’s monologue were Lily Gladstone, Ryan Gosling, Cillian Murphy, Margot Robbie, Robert Downey Jr. and Martin Scorsese — so it was key that they be in their seats when the show began.
“Once we realized that maybe half those people were not there, we started saying OK, we’re definitely going to delay this a little bit,” says Rob Mills, the exec VP of unscripted and alternative entertainment at Walt Disney Television, who was busy with the team producing the live red carpet show at the time. “This is at 6:54 east coast time.”
In a rapid-fire text message chain, the producers kept each other informed on who had just arrived and were racing to the doors. “Jimmy couldn’t go on until Margot [Robbie] and Ryan [Gosling] were in their seats. And I think they literally were at 7:04 and 30 seconds,” Mills says. “It was literally landing an airplane and not knowing if the landing gear is going to open. It was crazy.”
In the meantime, the red carpet telecast was able to vamp a bit longer — and then the network put in a long commercial break to fill the time (leading to plenty of puzzled viewers on social media). “It was great for our ad inventory, and our promos — hopefully everyone knew that ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ is coming back!” Mills quips.
Opening the show, Kimmel noted that the Oscars were already five minutes behind — and the producers braced to go overtime. But then a funny thing happened: Instead, as the telecast progressed, it was actually starting to run ahead of schedule. In the end, Kimmel even had to vamp for a few minutes — more on that in a moment.
“I honestly have tried to do that math in my head nine times and it’s still not making sense to me,” McNearney says of the extra time. “Leading up to the show, my biggest concern was time. I thought for sure we were going to be over, with 23 awards, five songs, an In Memoriam, and the five ‘fab fives’ [which is what she calls the acting presentations, where five past winners paid tribute to this year’s five nominees]. So, I really was preparing the whole time that we were going to be way over.”
But with two winners absent — live action short winner Wes Anderson and animation feature winner Hayao Miyazaki — and other winners keeping their speeches brief, the show began to run ahead of schedule. Still, “I don’t know how the hell [it happened], you never get extra time,” McNearney says. “Jimmy loved having a little extra time, and I think it worked in his favor.”
And then, about 10 minutes before the show ended, one of Kimmel’s writers ran over and showed him something Donald Trump had just posted on Truth Social, ranting about the “boring” show. Kimmel decided to read the former President’s review verbatim — and McNearney (who, by the way, is also Kimmel’s wife) admits she tried to talk him out of it.
“I will tell you, I’m really not proud of this, but I tried to talk Jimmy out of reading that,” she says. “I feel like my instincts are usually right, but I was totally off on that. I said, ‘Please don’t read this.’ And he asked why. I said, ‘I don’t want to give Trump airtime in the Oscars. This is the one time we don’t have to talk about him. We talk about him every night… This night is not about him and it’s not about politics. My second thought was just the risk, like the show was going well! I just wanted to make sure it ended well, and I didn’t want it to end on a sour note.”
McNearney adds, “But he had a glimmer in his eye, and he said, ‘I got this.’ He really did. This is where he shines.”
Kimmel huddled with his writers, and he came up with the retort: “Isn’t it past your jail time?” It killed in the room, and McNearney notes that Kimmel’s instinct was right. “I will tell you, I’m never going to win an argument in my household again!” she says.
Here are more behind-the-scenes tidbits about this year’s Oscars:
John Cena’s “nude” appearance went through an intense standards and practices process.
As a tribute to the 1974 Oscars streaker, John Cena walked onstage nude — sort of. His private parts were strategically covered so as not to run afoul of FCC standards. But the producers got away with a lot more than the network’s legal team wanted.
“There was a lot of reticence of not just a fine from the FCC, but potential complaints,” Mills says. At first, the S&P team said it had to be blatantly clear that Cena was not naked. But then, the producers worked with the network to determine what they could get away with.
“I’m going to educate you a little here,” Mills says. “A bulge cannot be showing, and you can’t show crack. It was also, ’What happens if he drops that card?’ So, we made sure that, for all intents and purposes, he looked like a Ken doll up front. His crack was covered in the back and then the envelope was Velcro-ed on there so it wouldn’t fall. But beyond that, he was naked.”
McNearney says the producers wanted to keep the Cena bit a surprise, so they rehearsed it on a closed set. She also says the back-and-forth with the network’s standards and practices was intense.
“They were sweating,” she says of the S&P execs. “I think at the end we all got to a spot where we were comfortable, S&P was comfortable, and it didn’t compromise the comedy a bit. I was very thankful that we didn’t have to send him out there in tighty whities, which I’m sure legal would have preferred.”
As for people debating whether Cena was nude, “That’s what I wanted!” McNearney says. “Maybe it’s not what [S&P] wanted. That’s definitely what I want!”
The 2024 Oscars witnessed a surprising twist when wrestler-actor John Cena was unexpectedly brought on stage by host Jimmy Kimmel, echoing a historic Oscars moment. Kimmel, capitalizing on the occasion, initiated Cena’s spontaneous appearance, reminiscent of an incident from fifty years prior.
The 2024 Academy Awards took an unexpected turn reminiscent of a historical Oscar moment as WWE superstar and actor John Cena found himself unwittingly thrust into the spotlight, quite literally, during the ceremony. Jimmy Kimmel, hosting the event, seized the opportunity to pay homage to a peculiar incident that occurred half a century ago, setting the stage for Cena’s impromptu performance.
A Nod to History
During the live broadcast of the Oscars, Jimmy Kimmel made a reference to the infamous streaker incident at the 1974 Academy Awards. This incident, which occurred 50 years prior, saw English teacher Robert Opel streaking across the stage behind actor and co-host David Niven, leaving audiences shocked and amused.
A Modern-Day Reenactment
Prompted by Kimmel’s remarks, speculation arose about what would happen if a similar incident were to occur at the Oscars in 2024. With a mischievous glint in his eye, Kimmel called out WWE superstar and actor John Cena, slyly summoning him to the stage.
Reluctant Participation
Initially hesitant, Cena reluctantly complied with Kimmel’s request, finding himself unexpectedly thrust into a comedic role. Stripped down to nothing but a pair of Birkenstock sandals, Cena begrudgingly took to the stage, reenacting the infamous streaker moment from 1974.
YouTuber Elvish Yadav created history when he became the first-ever wildcard entrant to win Salman Khan’s reality. Over the past few weeks, the Bigg Boss OTT season 2 winner has been embroiled in a lot of controversies. From being involved in a rave party case to slapping a man for insulting him, recently, a video of him allegedly physically assaulting another YouTuber, Sagar Thakur, also known as Maxtern, along with his goons surfaced on the internet. Now amid the entire controversy, it seems like the YouTubers have resolved their issues.
Taking to his official Instagram handle, Elvish shared a happy picture with Thakur, who claimed in his police complaint that the former had threatened to kill him. Sharing the photo, he wrote, “Ek Ghar Mai Bartan Hote Hai, Bajege toa sahi. Bhaichara On Top.” Well, it is safe to say that this has left the netizens confused. While many believe that the fight and everything that happened afterward was staged and pre-planned, others speculated how Yadav and Maxtern resolved their differences in such a short period of time.

King Charles’ grand plan for the royal family has been left in tatters as Kate Middleton’s health crisis takes hold.
Where is she? There is only one thing worth worrying about this week, one bedevilling question to be answered: On which Mediterranean resort town’s sun lounge is the Queen of Great Britain and Northern Ireland currently lolling, just Camilla and her Boot’s bottle of coconut tanning oil?
They say Nero fiddled while Rome burned and now, it would seem that Her Majesty is tanning while the royal family teeters ever close to a tipping point – which is really saying something after the four and a bit years that the House of Windsor has been through.
King Charles is being treated for an unspecified form of cancer; Camilla is off on hols with a rum drink; Kate the Princess of Wales is recuperating after undergoing abdominal surgery, taking at least three, but possibly up to six, months off; the internet has gone off the deep end, adamant some vast conspiracy is afoot thus sparking much hand-wringing about how much the Waleses should be saying and privacy; Prince William has whittled his diary down to nothing to stay home; and preening useless glob Prince Andrew managed to land a starring role at the memorial service of King Constantine of the Hellenes. Oh goodie.
Here we are, only 18 months and change on from the death of the Queen Elizabeth and the handing over of the reins and reign to lifelong intern and all-round trier Charles and things are in disarray.
Fine. Chance, the universe, fate is to blame for a lot of this – His Majesty’s cancer, whatever issue Kate was treated for – but this is also a tale about leadership and the King’s decades-in-the-honing vision for Crown Inc.
At the heart of this mess are four words that His Majesty must now dread having ever uttered – Slimmed Down Royal Family. Come the aughties, the advent of flip phones, hipster jeans and Shakira, at some point god’s gift to hedgerow preservation decided that the royal family was in danger of starting to look like it a bloated gaggle of spongers, many of whom enjoyed gratis grace-and-favour homes and never doing a lick of public duties.
For example, in 2019, the last time that the full complement appeared on the balcony for Trooping the Colour, there were 39 people. Hands up – who can tell me who Albert Windsor, Zenouska Mowatt, Lyla Gilman or Estella Taylor are?*
Enter Charles’ blueprint for his SDRF™, which would see only those in the top spots take centre stage and to officially represent the crown.
The world got its first look at this during the late Queen’s 2012 Diamond Jubilee celebrations. Gone from the Buckingham Palace balcony were the dozens of second and third and fourth cousins so removed from the throne that they probably had to wear name tags to identify one another.
In its place were just Charles and Camilla, William and Kate and Prince Harry who was four years away from meeting future wife Meghan Markle and having to learn to spell ‘unconscious bias’.
(On that day, just the palace, how many footmen do you think it took to hold an indignant, red-faced Andrew back from forcefully joining them?)
The fundamental flaw in this SDRF plan was that it was predicated on those senior members working with all the zeal of Princess Anne amped up on Red Bull. It did not take into account how greatly the loss of Her late Majesty would be felt, sickness, self-immolation via Newsnight interview or a duke deciding one day that he was better off doing this thing called ‘Job’ than having to play obedient second fiddle.
Charles’ grand scheme did not factor in ego, resentment, self-regarding plonkerism, and the inevitable ravages of time. The end result is where we are today: After nearly two months of rolling crises, the royal family looks threadbare, depleted and wan.
The consequences of what now looks like the King’s short-sightedness are currently on full display, with Prince Edward and Sophie the Duchess of Edinburgh, two immensely well-meaning triers who make vanilla look too vanilla, and Anne left to carry the whole show. Oh dear.
Charles’ SDRF, which was meant to make the monarchy look all streamlined and efficient, has instead left them looking pallid and limp. What seemed like a great idea back in 2012 has now, accidentally, temporarily, essentially hobbled the royal family, who are starting to get the whiff of the lame duck about them.
Things now seem to happen to the royal family leaving them regularly scrambling, on the back foot or someone dusting off the red leather crisis folder. It feels like the palace now spends their days reacting to things rather than setting agendas and putting little known diseases on the map.

India hosts 25% of global weddings, indicating that it is a destination for one in four weddings in the world. According to the Indian Brand Equity Forum (IBEF), a trust established by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the Indian wedding industry has become the fourth largest industry in the country after energy, banking, and insurance markets, with an annual revenue of 4.74 trillion rupees in 2023.
The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT), the nation’s leading trade association for retailers and traders, predicts that the current wedding season will witness over 42 lakh weddings across the country, with wedding-related sales and services accounting for over Rs 5.5 lakh crore in business.
Destination weddings are on the upswing, accounting for 21% in 2024 versus 18% in 2022. The destination wedding industry increased from $21 billion in 2022 to $28 billion in 2023, according to Research and Markets’ 2023 Destination Wedding Global Market Report.
According to CAIT estimates, every year more than 5,000 Indian couples now get married abroad. Indians spend or deprive local annual revenues ranging from Rs 75,000 crore to Rs 1 lakh crore every year on destination weddings overseas. Moreover, the government exchequer loses revenue from taxes and cess as the money is spent abroad.
Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi, while promoting ‘Wed in India’ in his monthly radio programme, Mann Ki Baat, said that he was troubled by the trend of some “big families” organising weddings abroad, and he urged people to organise such events on Indian soil so that the country’s money does not go out.
He said, “If we celebrate the festivities of marriages on Indian soil, amid the people of India, the country’s money will remain in the country.” During a summit in Dehradun in December 2023, Prime Minister Modi again encouraged Indians to “Wed in India”.

I made it, I made a film called Jodi, I didn’t get the rights for it, so I turned it fictional.) I thought they wouldn’t be able to make it. When the pandemic hit and Jodi wasn’t released, I got a call from Imtiaz sir. I thought I was getting sued but he wanted to cast me in his film instead.”
Diljith admits that he changed his mind once he heard Imtiaz’s idea for the film. “His perspective was different. It was Chamkila’s story, even I didn’t know that well. I just surrendered to Imtiaz sir’s vision,” he said.

Diesel is staying on with the franchise, which he appeared to confirm will end with the upcoming 11th installment
Vin Diesel confirmed that he will be staying on with the “Fast & Furious” franchise as he spoke out for the first time since his former assistant Asta Jonasson sued him for sexual battery.
The 56-year-old actor, who produces and stars in the hit film series, shared an update on the upcoming 11th installment in his first public statement regarding his future with “Fast & Furious” after sexual assault allegations were made against him by Jonasson last December.
Diesel, who also appeared to confirm that the long-running franchise will be ending with the 11th movie, has previously denied any wrongdoing.
“Just finished our end of the week Fast meeting with the writers and the whole team… to say the excitement for our finale was incredibly powerful is an understatement. Wow. So exciting…,” Diesel wrote in an Instagram post alongside a still of himself in the movie.
The California native went on to praise the fans of “Fast & Furious” for their support and dedication to the franchise.
“While everyone was heading into the weekend amped and excited, I thought of you all… reminded of the countless moments when your enthusiasm and passion became the driving force behind our creative journey,” he wrote.
“Your commitment to our saga has had a unique impact on its success and evolution… as my youngest daughter would say, it’s profound.”
“Thank you for being the backbone of this global saga that because of you, transcends the screen,” he added.
“This grand finale is not just an ending; it’s a celebration of the incredible family we’ve built together.”
“Hope to make you proud!” he concluded.
Diesel has starred as Dominic Toretto, the leader of a street racing team, since the action franchise’s debut movie “The Fast & the Furious” premiered in 2001. Though he did not appear in the second film, 2003’s “2 Fast 2 Furious” and only made a brief cameo in the third installment, 2006’s “The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift,” Diesel returned as a star and producer for the fourth movie, 2009’s “Fast & Furious.”
The actor has remained a lead character and served as a producer for the franchise’s last six installments, including the 10th film “Fast X,” which was released in May 2023.
However, he has not previously commented on his future with the franchise since Johansson filed a sexual battery lawsuit against him under California’s Sexual Abuse and Cover Up Accountability Act, which allows victims to revive claims that would otherwise be barred from the legal process due to the expiration of the statute of limitations.

There was a relationship of friendship but there was no relationship of sex?”
He further said that as Shah Rukh became a superstar, there was a lot of stuff written about him. “It is not true. In fact, from the time I have known him, he has been a one-woman man all his life. Article 370 review: Uri: The Surgical Strike not only gave Bollywood a young superstar but also set a precedent for contemporary war films. Spiffy camera work, never-seen-before strike sequences, stupendous direction and a crisp editing made it strike a chord with the audience and a sleeper hit. Five years later, Aditya Dhar returns to tell a story about Indian polity with the ‘conflict economy’ of Kashmir at the centre in ‘Article 370’. However, this time, he hasn’t donned the hat of a director.
Article 370 might not be as crisp and slick as Uri: The Surgical Strike but it still manages to leave a mark. The hard-hitting prologue by Ajay Devgn perfectly sets the tone of the film at the outset. It revolves around ID field officer Zooni Haksar, who successfully manages to kill Burhan Wani, a Mujahideen, who’s also the son of a headmaster, in an encounter. This, however, has devastating ramifications and plummets the valley of Kashmir into a state of crisis with throngs of civilians protesting against his death with stone pelting. Following the situation that was widely reported as one of the most critical instances of modern history, Zooni is suspended from ID and is sent off to Delhi, where she’s now in charge of providing security to weddings at ministers’ homes.
This goes on until Rajeshwari Swaminathan, Joint Secretary, PMO approaches her to lead NIA to bring about some sense of stability in the valley and ultimately abrogate Section 370, that accorded a special status to the state of Jammu and Kashmir. This gives Zooni the opportunity to go back to Kashmir and stabilise and achieve ‘aman’ in the valley that according to her is ‘a lost case’. We also get a glimpse into the infamous Pulwama Attack and the minds of separatist leaders and officials who have their own vested interests.
Article 370 has been shot in some real locations that imparts a lot of authenticity to the narrative. Cinematographer Siddharth Vasani captures the essence of Kashmir with aplomb that each frame set there smells of the valley. The solemnity of the narrative is perfectly conveyed through muted tones of blue and grey that predominates the film. At 2 hours and 40 minutes, Article 370 largely manages to keep you hooked. The makers waste no time and dive into the crux of the story in the first half and it makes for a fast-paced experience till the point of intermission. It’s the second half of the film that appears stretched out.

While the elder one has established herself as a versatile performer the younger one recently made her much-awaited Bollywood debut with Zoya Akhtar’s The Archies. The sisters share an unbreakable bond and leave no stone unturned to express their love for one another through their social media posts.
On Tuesday, Khushi took to her official social media handle to share a few mirror selfies, which were clicked while she was sitting in her vanity. Immediately taking to the comment section of the post, Janhvi showered her younger sister with love and adoration. She wrote, “You’re the best ever my laddoooooooo.” She went on to post another comment where she apologised to the former for fighting with her. The 26-year-old actress wrote, “I miss you I’m sorry I fought with you I love you.” Replying to her, Khushi wrote, “@janhvikapoor miss u love u I’m sorry hehehehe.”

Days after Poonam Pandey faked her own death, it has now been reported that a Rs 100 crore defamation case has been filed against the actress and her former husband Sam Bombay. As reported by Pinkvilla, the case has been filed by Faizan Ansari. He accused Poonam Pandey of “trivializing the seriousness of cancer and manipulating the emotions and trust of millions” by faking her own death. He has reportedly also urged the authorities to arrest Pandey and her former husband.
Ansari has also filed an FIR with the Kanpur Police Commissioner. “Poonam Pandey and her husband Sam Bombay conspired to stage her death, making a mockery of a serious illness like cancer. Poonam Pandey orchestrated this stunt for her personal publicity, betraying the trust of millions of Indians and the entire Bollywood industry,” the FIR read.
For the unversed, Poonam Pandey’s ‘death’ news was announced in a post shared on her official Instagram handle on February 2. “This morning is a tough one for us. Deeply saddened to inform you that we have lost our beloved Poonam to cervical cancer. Every living form that ever came in contact with her was met with pure love and kindness. In this time of grief, we would request for privacy while we remember her fondly for all that we shared,” the post read.
Aditya Narayan made headlines yet again after the singer hit a fan with a mic and threw his phone away during his Bhilai concert
During a concert in Bhilai, Chhattisgarh, singer Aditya Narayan expressed his anger towards a fan, and a video capturing the incident has gone viral. The ‘Tattad Tattad’ hitmaker halted his performance, grabbed a fan’s phone, and tossed it into the crowd. He even struck the unidentified person with his mic. The reason behind Aditya’s reaction remains unclear, as the incident occurred while he was singing “Aaj Ki Raat” from Shah Rukh Khan’s movie Don.
Following the video’s circulation on social media, Udit Narayan’s son faced criticism from netizens for his unexpected behavior. A user on X commented, “#adityanarayan throwing phone in his concert. everyone should have left at the moment.” “India’s greatest singer of all time. The “Top Gun: Maverick” star, 61, has been “growing closer” to Russian socialite Elsina Khayrova, 36, over the past couple of months and is now officially dating her, the Daily Mail reports.
“It’s well known within Elsina’s circle that she and Tom are now an item,” an insider told the outlet.
“They’ve grown very close over the past few weeks but take a lot of care not to be photographed together because they want to maintain their privacy,” the source continued.
“Tom has been staying the night at Elsina’s apartment, which as you can imagine, is a very beautiful place. They enjoy hanging out together and despite their wealth, do a lot of the things that normal couples do.”
The pair both attended a gala dinner in support of London’s Air Ambulance Charity, where Prince William was the guest of honor.
Though Cruise and Khayrova arrived separately, friends told the outlet that it’s not a surprise, as they’ve been spending most of their time behind closed doors at her multimillion-dollar apartment in Knightsbridge, London.
However, the pair have stepped out incognito for strolls through Hyde Park, sources claimed.
The two have also reportedly dined privately at several exclusive London restaurants.
Page Six has contacted Cruise’s rep for comment but did not immediately hear back.
They were first romantically linked after reportedly canoodling at a party in London’s ritzy Mayfair neighborhood in December.
“They were inseparable, clearly a couple. He seemed to be besotted with her,” an eyewitness told the Daily Mail at the time.

Siddharth Anand finally breaks silence on Fighter’s legal notice by the IAF, says they gave us a no objection certificate before the release
‘Fighter’, after having a constantly rising collection at the box office, recently drew attention for a scene. Though the India’s biggest aerial action drama, directed by Siddharth Anand, was praised for the performances by the leading actors, namely Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone, Anil Kapoor, and others, it also attracted attention recently after an IAF officer raised concerns, asserting that the depiction of the intimate moment, especially in the military attire context, is seen as disrespectful to the honour and sanctity associated with the uniform.
Furthermore, the conversation was heightened as the characters were portrayed as members of an elite Indian Air Force team. A leading portal reached out to Siddharth Anand and asked about the question raised by an Air Force officer from Assam, Saumya Deep Das, who claimed that the particular kissing scene was an insult to the IAF. To which, Siddharth said, “I am glad to answer this question. This film is in complete conjunction with the IAF. IAF has been a co-collaborator on the film and has been a huge associate partner on our film.
This film has gone through meticulous procedures with the IAF, right from the submission of the script, to the production planning, viewing the film before the censor saw it on the censor board, watching it again at the IAF, reviewing the film after the censor, and then giving us a physical copy of the NOC No Objection Certificate. After that, we got the certificate. We got the censor certificate. Then, we showed the entire film to everyone in the Air Force, including the Air Force Chief, Mr. Chaudhary, and over 100 Air Marshals from across the country. We called them and hosted a screening for them one day before the film’s release in Delhi, and they gave us a standing ovation.”

‘It is not like she is 16’
Arbaaz Khan said, “Though my wife (Sshura Khan) is much younger than me, it is not like she is 16-years-old. She knew what she wanted in her life, and I knew what I wanted in my life. We spent a lot of time together in that one year to really see what we expect out of each other, what do we want, and how are we looking at our future. Such decisions are not made in a hurry.”
‘She knew what she was getting into’
Asked about their age gap and people’s reaction to it, Arbaaz Khan said, “It’s not like we were not aware of it or we hid it from each other. As a girl, she knew what she was getting into, and as a man, I knew what I was getting into. Two people of the same age can be together and probably separate in a year. So, is age the only factor that keeps relationships going? Ask yourself. In fact, whenever you see there is a very big age gap between marriages, they have far higher success rate.”
Arbaaz Khan’s past relationships
Before his second wedding, Arbaaz was in a relationship with model Giorgia Andriani for some years. Arbaaz was earlier married to reality TV personality Malaika Arora, who is currently dating actor Arjun Kapoor. They co-parent their only child, son Arhaan Khan, who was born on November 9, 2002.
From the glitz and glamor of the rock ‘n’ roll era to the gritty underground scenes of hip-hop and jazz, music biopics have long been a favorite genre among film enthusiasts. These films not only give us a glimpse into the lives of our favorite musicians but also provide a deeper understanding of the cultural and historical context in which they thrived. This is why today we decided to take a journey through the early days of Vaudeville with Fanny Brice to the streets of Compton with N.W.A. and explore some of the best music biopics ever made, delving into stories that captivated audiences and left an indelible mark on the world of cinema.
Considering how many notable musicians throughout history have had films about their lives, narrowing it down to just seven is no easy task. Especially when you factor in how strongly people feel about biographical pictures, especially when it comes to being nominated at the Oscars. In 2020, Renee Zellweger was awarded for her work portraying Judy Garland in “Judy,” and just last year, Austin Butler was nominated for Best Actor for his work in “Elvis.” However, a poll done surveying people about the big award show back in 2022 showed many people felt that the Aretha Franklin biopic “Respect,” starring Jennifer Hudson, was specifically snubbed for a chance at the iconic golden statue. The Oscars have also snubbed “Get On Up,” the James Brown biopic starring the late Chadwick Boseman. However, anyone who’s seen the films can agree they feature one-in-a-lifetime performances that truly exceed any statute reward.
But why are people so passionate about music biopics? Music biopics have a unique ability to resonate with people on a deep level. One reason for this is the power of music itself. Music has a way of evoking emotions and connecting with our own personal experiences, and when we see the story of a musician unfold on the big screen, it becomes a window into their world and their creative process. Moreover, music biopics often delve into the personal struggles and triumphs of these artists, shedding light on the human side of their larger-than-life personas. This vulnerability and relatability allow audiences to empathize with their journey and find inspiration in their resilience.
There’s no greater example of the journeys described above than the films on this list. The seven movies that made the ranking are all epic tales of self-discovery and the importance of music in one’s life. As always, we at StudyFinds have researched across eight expert sources to bring you today’s list of the top seven best music biopics of all time. Of course, everything is subjective, and you may not share the same opinion, which is why we would love to hear from you in the comments below. Now, onto the list!
The List: Best Music Biopics That Fans Recommend
1. “Funny Girl” (1968)
Yeah, the guy said, “Honey, you’re a funny girl!” And no girl was funnier than Ms. Fanny Brice. From her days in the Ziegfeld Follies to portraying the loveable but annoying Snooks, Fanny Brice set a tone for all comedians to come. August Man describes this film as a “masterpiece,” starring none other than Barbra Streisand in an Oscar-winning performance as the Jewish icon.
Though it’s difficult to imagine, according to The Guardian, this was Streisand’s on-screen debut. She plays the pre-war singer and comic star with such chutzpah that she transforms Brice’s silliness into an amazing and distinctive character. Her songs, particularly “Don’t Rain on My Parade,” are obvious hits, as she exudes brilliance, femininity, Jewish identity, sensuality, and vulnerability all in one performance.
2. “Elvis” (1979)
Next up is “Elvis.” Though Austin Butler’s take as the King of Rock’ N Roll is fresh in people’s minds, it is Kurt Russell’s take from the 1979 film that proved to be a standout. GQ notes that “one major point of difference” between this movie and Baz Luhrmann’s most recent creation is that the former concentrates on the subject’s early years and ends in 1970, just as his health begins to worsen, rather than following him from birth to death. This enables filmmaker John Carpenter to highlight the importance of his mother and Colonel Tom Parker’s ties and highlight the impact these individuals had on the King.
Since the King’s untimely death in 1977, a number of Elvis Presley biopics have been produced, but this made-for-TV film, directed by John Carpenter, is still “one to beat,” raves Rolling Stone. Russell lip-synced to country music musician Ronnie McDowell’s voice instead of singing for the movie, but his performance scenes nonetheless capture a great deal of the intensity and visceral thrill of Presley’s onstage presence.
The film follows him from his early years, when Shelley Winters played his mother, Gladys, to his celebrity years, when Pat Hingle played Colonel Tom Parker. Russell delivers a powerful yet delicate performance that is unforgettable as an Elvis impersonator. Just three years after Presley passed away, Russell’s brilliant and entertaining rendition effectively started the worldwide fad of Elvis imitation, which is still practiced today in pubs, clubs, and hen parties all over the world, but mostly “without Russell’s skills,” jokes The Guardian.
3. “Ray” (2004)
The next biopic to make the list is 2004’s “Ray.” Written, produced, and directed by Taylor Hackford, this movie “focuses on 30 years in the life of pioneering soul music/R&B icon Ray Charles,” writes U Discover Music. It follows the trajectory of Charles’s career from his early club days to his crossover success with Atlantic Records, his commercial downfall in the 1970s, and his incredible return, which earned him a Grammy for his work with Chaka Khan.
Jamie Foxx, who earned an Oscar for his captivating portrayal of American musician Ray Charles in this movie, is at his best ever. The narrative traces his modest beginnings in Florida, where he studied piano instruction before experiencing the twin traumas of his brother’s murder and total blindness. It also depicts the background of his relationships and his involvement in the civil rights struggle as his career soars. “Amongst many other things, Ray is cold hard proof that ‘Georgia on my Mind’ is one of the greatest songs ever written,” adds GQ.
Foxx portrays Charles with a brilliant performance, perfectly capturing his eccentricities and physical gestures, particularly his rolling walk, which is a cross between a star’s swagger and a blind man’s cautiousness. Charles is seen experimenting with a variety of musical genres, including blues, country, R&B, rock ‘n’ roll, and, most importantly, gospel. The Guardian claims that the entire film is, in a sense, “evangelizing for Ray Charles.”
4. “Coal Miner’s Daughter” (1980)
Once upon a time, a woman named Loretta Lynn was born to a coal miner in Butcher Holler. She would make history and personally pick one Sissy Spacek to play her in this biopic. Which, according to U Discover Music, was arguably a “career-best performance.” “Coal Miner’s Daughter,” which is based on Lynn’s autobiography and also stars Levon Helm and Tommy Lee Jones, chronicles the story of the iconic singer from her impoverished upbringing to her rise to fame.
“Coal Miner’s Daughter,” which takes its name from a song and album that Lynn released, features an Oscar-winning performance by Spacek as the country artist, mentions Forbes. Spacek’s portrayal of Lynn is considered one of the most authentic and compelling performances in the history of biographical films. Her dedication to the role and her ability to capture Lynn’s essence on-screen earned her critical acclaim, among other accolades.
Even though Lynn is shown singing nonstop throughout the film, Sift Pop reviewers were shocked with how much the film focuses on her background before jumping into her music career. A large part of the film particularly centers on how she meets and marries her husband. The fact that Beverley D’Angelo (as Patsy Cline) and Spacek both sang the lead roles is remarkable. According to Sift Pop, seeing how Lynn’s life changes from the first scene to the last scene is “striking” and a fantastic way to visually wrap up the movie.

“Later, when the shot was done, Vikrant sat down on the floor, but did not stop crying,” recalled Jaskunwar Singh Kohli
Vikrant Massey’s 12th Fail, which earned the actor a Best Actor (Critics) Award at Filmfare this year, has been garnering praise ever since its release in theatres in October last year. Now, the film’s associate director and editor Jaskunwar Singh Kohli has shared a heartfelt note on Instagram, recollecting one of his memorable experiences on the sets. Sharing snippets of Vikrant Massey and Medha Shankr from the film’s climax, Jaskunwar said, “I will never forget this moment — during the shoot of the final result scene, Vikrant Massey had to fall down onto his knees again and again. But no matter how many takes it took, he cried so deeply every time that it was unbelievable. In the middle of takes when he would be standing, ready for the shot, he would keep muttering one line to himself — “Main bhi yahan tak bina oxygen support ke pahuncha hoon, woh bhi nange pair.” This is the line Manoj Kumar Sharma says to the panellists during his interview.”
Jaskunwar continued in his caption, “Later, when the shot was done, Vikrant sat down on the floor, but did not stop crying. He cried, and he cried as Medha gently held him by the shoulders. “It’s also my story,” he told her through his tears. “It’s taken me 19 years to get hereâ€æ and I’ve also reached here without oxygen support Medha, barefoot. It’s my story as well.”
“In this iconic moment from the film, it was not just Manoj Kumar Sharma, but also Vikrant Massey. The two sides of the coin blended into one surreal human experience. Both made it, together, at the same time,” wrote the film’s editor signing off.
Filmmaker Kiran Rao has finally responded to Animal director Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s comment on Aamir Khan’s movies. Reddy Vanga’s comments came after Kiran Rao allegedly criticised his films in one of her recent interviews. However, Rao, in her latest interaction with a media portal, has denied commenting on Reddy Vanga’s films and also shared her thoughts on his remarks about Khan.
“I have never commented on Mr Sandeep’s films because I have never seen them. I have often spoken on misogyny and the representation of women on screen. I have talked about it on various platforms at various times. But I have never taken the name of any film because it is not about the specific film. Why Mr Vanga has assumed that I was talking about his film you’ll have to ask him. I have never seen his film,” Rao told The Quint.
On Reddy Vanga’s statement that Aamir himself did misogynistic songs like ‘Khambe jaisi khadi hai’ back in the day, Rao said that her ex-husband was one of the few people who had apologised for it. “There are very few people who would look back at their body of work and apologise for doing something problematic in retrospect,” she added.

Victoria Monét won best new artist. “Thank you to the champagne-servers tonight,” Monét began her acceptance speech. “Thanks to my mom, a single mom raising this really bad girl.” Then she started to cry, telling the room that this award was “15 years in the making.”
Billie Eilish won song of the year for writing the “Barbie” hit, “What Was I Made For?” She thanked director Greta Gerwig for “making the best movie of the year.”
It was just one of several standout moments from Sunday’s show, hosted by Trevor Noah and broadcast live from Cypto.com Arena in downtown Los Angeles.
Karol G made Grammy history Sunday by becoming the first female performer to win best música urbana album for her blockbuster “Mañana Será Bonito” record.
“This is my first time at the Grammys,” she told the audience in English. “And this is my first time holding my own Grammy.”
Sandeep Reddy Vanga revealed why he isn’t angry about Kangana Ranaut criticising Animal. He is also open to working with her.
Actor Kangana Ranaut doesn’t want Sandeep Reddy Vanga to offer her a role in his films after he recently said he is open to working with her. Kangana had criticised Sandeep’s film Animal, starring Ranbir Kapoor, talking about which the filmmaker said he doesn’t mind her remark. In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Sandeep praised Kangana and her work.
Kangana Ranaut to Sandeep Reddy Vanga
Responding to Sandeep’s words, Kangana tweeted, “Review and criticism are not the same, every kind of art should be reviewed and discussed, it is a normal thing. The way Sandeep ji showed respect towards me by smiling at my review, it can be said that he not only makes manly films, his attitude is also manly, thank you sir.”
She added about working with Sandeep Reddy Vanga in the post, “But please don’t ever give me any role otherwise your alpha male heroes will become feminist and then your films will also be beaten, you make blockbusters, the film industry needs you.”
Sandeep on Kangana’s criticism on Animal
Sandeep originally said about Kangana in the interview, “If I get a chance and if I feel she will fit into it, I will go and narrate the story. I genuinely loved her performance in Queen and so many other films. So if she is giving a negative comment about Animal, I don’t mind. I don’t get angry also cause I have seen her work… I don’t feel bad.”
Kangana had previously criticised Animal in a post on X. She said it is the audience running to theatres to watch ‘women beating films’ and called the trend ‘discouraging.’
Reposting a fan’s tweet, she had said, “Paid negativity for my films is overwhelming, I have been fighting hard so far but even audiences are encouraging women beating films where they are treated like sex objects and asked to lick shoes. This is deeply discouraging for someone who has been dedicating her life for woman empowerment films, might shift career in coming years, want to give best years of my life to something worthwhile.” Her post was also regarding the performance of her film Tejas, which tanked at the box office and also received mixed reviews from critics.
Ayushmann Khurrana, in addition to being an exceptional actor, is a devoted and supportive husband. Throughout the challenging times, he has stood by his wife, author Tahira Kashyap, who is a breast cancer survivor. On World Cancer Day, the Vicky Donor star expressed admiration for Tahira’s indomitable spirit by sharing a poignant post featuring images illustrating her courageous journey against the disease.
The post comprises a sequence of photos, commencing with a mirror selfie of the couple and concluding with Tahira proudly revealing her surgery scar. The third image showcases Tahira in an orange t-shirt, denim, and a stylish cap, while the post wraps up with a boomerang video capturing her engaged in exercise. Ayushmann’s heartfelt caption reads, “The girl I pulled by having samosa and chai at hut number 14 in Panjab University. All the best for your debut at the @spokenfest today. In love with your heart and spirit @tahirakashyap ..#WorldCancerDay.”

Video posted online by The Hollywood Reporter appears to show the Atlanta-based musician being handcuffed and escorted out of the ceremony at the Crypto.com Arena by police.
In the footage, a voice is heard saying: “Are you serious? What the f***?”
Killer Mike’s sixth studio album, Michael, picked up best rap album – while his track Scientists And Engineers won best rap song and best rap performance.
As he received his Grammys on stage, the 48-year-old rapper said: “This is for all the people who think you’re too old to rap… we keep hip-hop alive. Never ever stop doing what you do.”
He added: “You cannot tell me dreams do not come true.”
‘Male adult detained for physical altercation’
A Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson told the PA news agency that a man was arrested at the awards ceremony, but declined to provide their identity.
They said: “Just after four o’clock this afternoon, a male adult was detained by police for a physical altercation that occurred inside the Crypto.com Arena.
“They handcuffed the individual and they removed them from the event and he is currently being questioned by authorities.
“If the individual is booked and arrested, then that’s when the identity will be available on that individual.”
Taylor Swift, SZA and Boygenius were just a few of the big winners at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards, which took place on Feb. 4 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.
Of course, the big news of the night came from Swift, who announced her new album “The Tortured Poets Department” while on stage. The pop star revealed the album would be arriving on April 19 while accepting her 13th Grammy award, for best pop vocal album with “Midnights.”
The Big Four were awarded to Billie Eilish for song of the year with “What Was I Made For?,” which also won in the best song written for visual media category; Variety cover star Victoria Monét for best new artist; Miley Cyrus for record of the year with “Flowers”; and Swift for album of the year with “Midnights.”
Performances drove the lot of the broadcast, with standouts from Joni Mitchell; Tracy Chapman with Luke Combs; and Billy Joel, who debuted his new single “Turn the Lights Back On.” Additional standouts included Miley Cyrus debuting “Flowers,” as well as Dua Lipa unveiling “Training Season” and Olivia Rodrigo giving an impassioned rendition of “Vampire.”
Throughout the broadcast, female artists reigned supreme in almost every category. It was also a night full of firsts, particularly for women. Karol G won her first Grammy for best música urbana with “Mañana Será Bonito”; Lainey Wilson took home her first trophy for best country album with “Bell Bottom Country”; Cyrus got her first Grammy for “Flowers” in the best pop solo performance category; and SZA won her first solo Grammys, taking home four including best R&B song, best progressive R&B album and more.
The sole male winner, Jay-Z, was given the Dr. Dre Global Impact Award, and had some choice words for the Grammys in his acceptance speech in never awarding his wife Beyoncé with album of the year. “I don’t want to embarrass this young lady, but she has more Grammys than everyone and never won album of the year,” he said. “So even by your own metrics, that doesn’t work. Think about that. The most Grammys, never won album of the year. That doesn’t work.”
Monét, who was nominated for seven awards, took home three with her debut album “Jaguar II.” Though she lost in the best traditional R&B performance category, where her two-year-old daughter Hazel could have become the youngest-ever Grammy winner, she was the victor in best engineered album (non-classical) and best R&B album, and took home the coveted best new artist award.
Phoebe Bridgers and her group Boygenius won their awards during the pre-telecast. Bridgers received her first Grammy alongside SZA for her feature on “Ghost in the Machine” in the best pop duo/group performance category. Boygenius, which was nominated for seven awards this year, won three of the announced categories, including best alternative music album for “The Record,” as well as best rock song and best rock performance for “Not Strong Enough.”
Notably, Paramore won both of its nominations for best rock album with “This Is Why” and best alternative music performance with the title track. With the best rock album win, Paramore became the first female-fronted band in history to win in the category.
In the rap categories, Killer Mike took the cake, sweeping in all three of his nominated categories. The Atlanta rapper, who made headlines prior to the main broadcast for getting arrested backstage, was the crown victor in best rap song and best rap performance for his track “Scientists & Engineers” featuring André 3000, Future and Eryn Allen Kane, while his album “Michael” bested the competition in best rap album. He was first nominated and won back in 2003 for his feature on OutKast’s “The Whole World” in the best rap performance by a duo or group.
Two of the Grammys‘ new categories were also announced during the precast. Kylie Minogue scored a second career win for “Padam Padam” in the best dance pop recording category, while Tyla took home he Grammy for best African music performance for “Water” — her first-ever and only nomination this year.

Whisper it quietly… but could the Grammy Awards get it right this year?
The ceremony, which takes place in Los Angeles on Sunday, is notorious for scoring own goals, often rewarding middle-of-the-road heritage acts over cutting-edge, contemporary pop.
But this year’s nominees are straight-down-the-line populist picks, with R&B star SZA leading the field on nine.
There will also be performances from big names ranging from Dua Lipa and Billie Eilish to Joni Mitchell and U2.
Comedian Trevor Noah will host for the fourth year running, overseeing a staggering 94 categories, from best contemporary Christian album to best audiobook, where Michelle Obama will square off against Meryl Streep.
Elsewhere, Phoebe Bridgers’ indie-rock supergroup Boygenius, and pop star Victoria Monét have seven nominations each.
Chart stars Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo, Miley Cyrus, Lana Del Rey and Ice Spice also have multiple nominations in a female-led field.
1) How to watch the Grammys
First of all, brew a strong pot of coffee.
More than 80 awards will be handed out in what’s called the “premiere ceremony” at 20:30 GMT on Sunday (12:30 in Los Angeles).
It’s often worth tuning in. The winners in the more obscure categories are less polished and more excited about winning, and the performances are looser and, dare I say it, more musical than the Hollywood-scale set pieces you’ll see later.
You can watch the whole thing on the Recording Academy’s YouTube channel and on live.grammy.com.
The main show, which will start at 01:00 Monday GMT, will be broadcast live in the US on CBS and streamed on Paramount Plus. Speeches and select performances are usually uploaded to YouTube the following day.
2) Will Taylor Swift overtake Ol’ Blue Eyes?
If Swift wins album of the year for Midnights, she will become the first ever artist to lift the prestigious trophy four times.
At the moment, she’s tied with Paul Simon, Stevie Wonder and Frank Sinatra, who each have three wins.
But the Grammys have typically been less interested in Swift’s pop records than her forays into country and folk.
Her competition for album of the year is strong. Here’s the full list of nominees:
Boygenius – The Record
Janelle Monáe – The Age of Pleasure
Jon Batiste – World Music Radio
Lana Del Rey – Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd
Miley Cyrus – Endless Summer Vacation
Olivia Rodrigo – Guts
SZA – SOS
Taylor Swift – Midnights
3) Joni and Tracy could put young stars in the shade
Modern-day superstars Billie Eilish, Dua Lipa, SZA and Olivia Rodrigo will no doubt put on lavish performances of their big hits.
But the show is likely to be stolen by two other female artists who have largely been out of the public eye in recent years.
Joni Mitchell is guaranteed a reception worthy of a living legend when she makes her debut Grammys performance at the age of 80.
And Tracy Chapman is heavily rumoured to be making a very rare public appearance to join country star Luke Combs on her 1988 classic Fast Car, which he took back to the charts last year.
The night’s other performers will include Billy Joel, Travis Scott and Burna Boy.
4) A win for SZA is a win for Scotland
In the US, SZA’s second album SOS topped the charts for 10 weeks and marked the singer’s ascension to the major league.
Born in Missouri and raised in New Jersey, the singer – real name Solána Imani Rowe – trained in marine biology before launching her music career.
If her latest album picks up a Grammy, it will also mean a win for a 20-year-old music producer from Scotland.
Blair Ferguson, who writes under the name BLK Beats, wrote the music for her hit single Snooze in his Glasgow bedroom, and it went on to sell more than two million copies in the US.
“SZA is just a genius and she’s able to transform any record with the way she comes up with a melody,” he told BBC News. “I don’t think any other artist could have made that track.”
Kim Kardashian and Odell Beckham Jr. aren’t doing anything to squash romance rumors.
The stars were spotted attending Jay-Z’s pre-Grammys shindig in West Hollywood Friday night at the same time — and even matched in all-black attire.
Kardashian, 43, arrived with her younger sister Khloé Kardashian, according to TMZ, while Beckham Jr., 31, showed up separately from them.
The outlet claimed there were some murmurs that the SKIMS founder and Baltimore Ravens player had a private moment in the parking garage together, but it was not confirmed.
Kim’s luxury Range Rover was photographed pulling away from the party around 1:30 a.m., but she was not seen inside thanks to the vehicle’s blacked-out windows.
Page Six did not immediately receive a reply from Kim or Beckham Jr.’s reps about whether or not they spent time together at the party.
They were first linked in September 2023 when a source told Page Six they had “been hanging out casually” and oftentimes in group settings.
They reignited dating speculation when the “Kardashians” star attended Beckham Jr.’s 31st birthday bash in New York City in November 2023.
