Liam Neeson, 72, professed his love for his “The Naked Gun” co-star Pamela Anderson, 57, after saying he’s no longer in the dating world.

“With Pamela, first off, I’m madly in love with her. She’s just terrific to work with,” Neeson recently gushed to People while speaking about making the cop comedy reboot.

Mumbai Police have arrested a man from Jamshedpur who had threatened Bollywood actor Salman Khan in the name of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and demanded a ransom of ₹ 5 crore.

According to the Mumbai Police, it registered a case against an unknown person and started an investigation after Mumbai Traffic Police received a threatening message.

“With the help of local police in Jamshedpur, an investigation was done and today the person who sent the message was arrested. He will be brought to Mumbai,” the police said.

Earlier on October 21, the Mumbai police received an apology from the same sender who threatened Mr Khan on October 18, stating that the message was “sent by mistake.”

Salman Khan Set To Begin Shoot For ‘Sikandar’ As Scheduled

Ekta Kapoor and her mother Shobha Kapoor have broken silence over the case registered against them under the POCSO act for ALTBalaji show Gandii Baat.

ALTBalaji’s official Instagram handle shared statement clarifying that Shobha and Ekta are “not involved in day to day” operations of the company.

The official statement read, “With reference to various media reports regarding the web series Gandii Baat, ALT Digital Media Entertainment LTD. (Company) hereby clarifies that it is fully compliant with all applicable laws including the POCSO Act and any reference to engagement of minors by the company is entirely incorrect.”

The statement also mentioned that the mother-daughter duo is not involved in the day-to-day operations of the company and the same is managed by separate teams.

“It is further clarified that Mrs Shobha Kapoor and Ms Ektaa R Kapoor are not involved in the day to day operations of the company and the same are managed by separate teams, including its content strategy. The company has complete faith in the judiciary and is fully co-operating with the authorities in the investigation. since the matter is subjudice, the company refrains from commenting in detail,” the statement added.

Mumbai Police interrogated producer Ekta Kapoor and her mother Shobha Kapoor, who were booked under the POCSO Act for allegedly showing inappropriate scenes involving minor girls in an episode of the ALTBalaji’s web series Gandii Baat.

On Monday, during interrogation, they have been asked to appear for questioning again on October 24. Mumbai Police has sought information about the actors working in the series. They will also record the statement of the actors and director of the film, as per Mumbai Police’s statement. The police also have asked Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor to bring some documents related to ALTBalaji.

New Delhi: Bollywood actor Shraddha Kapoor says the credit for the resounding success of her latest movie Stree 2 belongs to its “fabulous team” that crafted a sequel true to the spirit of the original.

The Amar Kaushik-directed horror comedy, a sequel to the 2019 film Stree, has emerged as the highest-grossing Hindi film of all time at the domestic box office, with a collection of over Rs 600 crore.

At an event on Friday evening, where the iconic magazine Screen was relaunched, Kapoor called the film a “pure cinematic joy” and praised the collaborative effort of the crew and her co-stars Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, and Aparshakti Khurana.

“We have brilliant actors in the film. We have some really entertaining dialogues. So, it has been a fabulous team effort and pure cinematic joy. I’m really proud to be a part of this film,” Kapoor said.

For Kapoor, it all began with Stree, set in the small town of Chanderi, Madhya Pradesh, where an evil spirit named ‘Stree’ abducts men during the festival season. The story was based on the urban legend of ‘Nale Ba’, which went viral in Karnataka in the 1990s.

“It was about six years ago, and Maddock Films was just up and coming as a production house. All the actors were at very different stages in our careers. We were also growing in our own ways,” she said.

“My personal reaction when I heard the first part was that I felt like I hadn’t heard a film like that before. It was based on an urban legend, and I was literally falling off the sofa when I heard it. I was so glad that they came to me for this film, which is pure entertainment. I was genuinely laughing at the dialogues and the scenes,” she added.

Kapoor, 37, said the movie and her character received immense love from audiences.

“My character is this mysterious girl who comes and goes, and you’re constantly wondering about her presence. So, it all began there. And hats off to our producer, our writers, and my director for really cracking the sequel because it’s important to not make a sequel for the sake of it.

According to sources cited by PTI, the Stree 2 actress received payment for making a ‘celebrity appearance’ at an event related to the HPZ Token app, which is presently being investigated for money laundering activities. Report states that no ‘incriminating’ charges have been brought against Tamannaah Bhatia. She had previously been summoned but postponed her appearance due to work commitments, ultimately deciding to attend on Thursday.

The charge sheet filed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in March names a total of 299 entities as accused, including 76 that are controlled by Chinese interests. Among these, 10 directors are of Chinese origin, while two entities are managed by foreign nationals from other countries.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is conducting the money laundering investigation based on an FIR lodged against several individuals associated with the app. They are accused of deceiving gullible investors by promising them astronomical returns through Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency mining.

According to the report, the police revealed that the HPZ Token mobile application was utilized by the accused to deceive investors. They opened bank accounts and merchant IDs associated with the app through shell companies run by dummy directors to conceal their illegal activities.

The FIR alleged that these funds were fraudulently obtained for illegal online gaming, betting, and investments in Bitcoin mining.
Tamannaah Bhatia provided her statement under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) at the ED zonal office in Guwahati, according to a statement from the agency.

Spiritual leader Aniruddhacharya Maharaj, has apologised to his followers for appearing on the grand premiere episode of Salman Khan’s controversial reality show Bigg Boss 18. While earlier reports had claimed that Aniruddhacharya will participate as a contestant in the show, it was later revealed during the first episode that he was just a guest.

Aniruddhacharya entertained the audience with his interaction with host Salman and with the contestants. While he did not go inside the house, he appeared on stage and gave advice to the participants before they entered the house.

Aniruddhacharya also asked Salman when he will get married and suggested that he should tie the knot soon. Meantime, Lady Gaga’s companion album, “Harlequin,” managed to move around 26,000 after its surprise release last week. The album is wonderful, with Gaga performing jazz standards like buttah. But the overall lack of interest in the film was an obstacle.

As per the latest reports, Elvish Yadav and Bharti Singh have been summoned over promoting an app-based scam, busted by Delhi Police. Read to know details.

In an unexpected turn of events, Bharti Singh and Elvish Yadav were sent legal notices by the Delhi Police. According to the reports, they were summoned by the police officials for having allegedly promoted an app called Hibox. The app is said to be nothing but is used to execute investment scams that have defrauded people of Rs 500 crore, as per one of the police officials. The summons was issued after over 500 complaints were registered, stating that several social media influencers, YouTubers, and other popular personalities were influencing people to use the app.

According to police, the renowned personalities who promoted the Hibox app and lured people into investing through the app are Saurav Joshi, Abhishek Malhan (aka Fukra Insaan), Purav Jha, Elvish Yadav, Bharti Singh, Haarsh Limbachiyaa, Lakshay Choudhary, Adarsh Singh, Amit (aka Crazy XYZ), and Dilraj Singh Rawat (aka Indian hacker). All of them were issued notices.

The authorities have alleged that these celebrities used advertisements and promotional activities to entice individuals to invest in a mobile app, promising substantial returns on their investments. As of now, five out of the 10 influencers mentioned have been summoned by the IFSO. DCP (IFSO) Hemant Tiwari stated that Elvish Yadav and Bharti Singh are among the five summoned individuals, while others will be summoned in the coming days. During the questioning, the influencers will be probed about their involvement with the mobile app and the compensation they received for endorsing the brand.

Delhi Police has mentioned that over 30,000 people have been duped by using the Hibox app. The Intelligence Fusion and Strategic Operations (IFSO) unit of Special Cells has arrested the main accused, named J. Sivaram. Aged 30, he is reported to be a resident of Chennai and served as a director of Hibox’s parent company, Sutrulla Express Private Limited. Police have also seized Rs 18 crore from his four bank accounts.

The Hibox smartphone application was launched in February 2024 but was developed in July 2023. A police officer said, “They (the accused) developed the backend, opened merchant accounts with Easebuzz and PhonePe, and opened front offices in Noida throughout 2023, before formally launching the app.”

In April 2024, following the release of promotional videos by YouTubers and other influencers, the app introduced giving movements for investment opportunities. According to DCP Tiwari, during the initial five months, Hibox delivered impressive returns of 1% daily and 30% monthly, with a block duration of 24 hours. However, starting from the first week of July, the application began withholding payments from participants, citing various reasons such as technical glitches, GST matters, and many more.

He has been working on those massive projects for a few years now.”

We met as colleagues and then formed a friendship. He is the one who keeps pushing me to do bigger projects. He wants me to play alpha men’s parts. He is the one who has put that kind of confidence in me. We are really good,” he added.

The actor said, “When we had returned from Romania and I was asked this, I had said, ‘Who Asim and who is he?’ But I somewhere feel bad for him because he is stuck in this character. The fans who are supporting him should be more responsible. They should know when somebody is not in the right space; they shouldn’t support him.”

“He is living in this La La Land, where he feels he is somebody who will make it big in life or has already done so. If he didn’t have that attitude, may be Asim would have won the trophy. He was that strong. If your mind frame is right, you can do wonders. But if it is not…poor guy, he was the first one to be out. He didn’t deserve to be the first one to go out,” Karanveer added.

There are deft sonic nods to the madness of Harley Quinn – it’s a pity there aren’t more of them

The role of sexy, freaky Harley Quinn is tailor-made for Lady Gaga. Interviewed about her part in Todd Phillips’s musical sequel, Joker: Folie à Deux, the 38-year-old star born Stefani Germanotta described how Harley Quinn has created a supervillain persona to unleash a “soul built on obsession and fear”.

It was not dissimilar to the way in which she conjured up her “Gaga” persona after “something bad” happened to her as a child. The fans she calls her “little monsters” love her for celebrating weirdness, darkness and queerness in big, shiny pop songs. She’s also proved her vocal chops by recording jazz standards with late crooner Tony Bennett – a covers project she now replicates alone on her new album Harlequin.

Splashing the Great American Songbook with blood is an old – but effective – trick. Martin Scorsese has made it his calling card, contrasting the image of his nation’s superficially sharp-suited, wisecracking financial success with the systemic violence that underpins it. Folie à Deux deals a similar hand in the comic book universe. Its narrative revolves around the criminally insane couple, Joker (Joaquin Phoenix) and Harley Quinn, who cast themselves as the stars of their own twisted version of a golden age musical.

On Harlequin, the only cover that really seems to dial into the film’s twisted heart is a cover of Charlie Chaplin’s 1936 tune “Smile”, the title of which brings to mind Joker’s painted, psychopath’s grin. Gaga sings over a cocktail piano in a breathy, melancholy register. Towards the end, the brass section turns murky and a guitarist scuttles their fingers down the fretboard, like a thief slipping into a dark alleyway. These are deft sonic nods to the madness of Harley Quinn – it’s a pity there aren’t more of them.

Elsewhere, Gaga belts and smoulders her way through upbeat songbook classics such as “Good Morning”, “Get Happy” and The Carpenters’ “Close to You”. All are recorded with flair, backed by a slickly arranged big band. The singer stays on the straight and narrow, sounding like she’s still on stage at her Las Vegas residency – there’s no suggestion of a bad romance with Joker. The perkiness packs a powerful punch when contrasted with the more shocking events on screen; listening to the recordings in isolation makes them feel solid but superfluous. Even the addition of a rocky electric guitar to “Oh, When the Saints” doesn’t really shift the mood.

There are just two original songs on the album, all of which have more success in projecting an off-kilter tone. “Folie à Deux” is a wonky waltz on which Gaga confesses that she’s “crazy in love”, as the orchestra swirls around her like a full silk skirt. “Happy Mistake” might nod to Radiohead’s “Creep”, but its soft strums of acoustic guitar seem better suited to her Oscar-winning 2018 film with Bradley Cooper, A Star is Born.

“Indian women are a strange mixture of submission and dominance. Well-defined, powerful characters in one world, Laapataa Ladies (Hindi) captures this diversity perfectly, though in a semi-idyllic world and in a tongue-in-cheek way,” the citation read.

Through an official statement, the team of Devara: Part 1 announced the cancellation of the pre-release event in Hyderabad. They stated, “We were eagerly waiting for this day as we’ve worked hard on this film for years and wanted to celebrate it on a grand scale especially since it’s the first solo release of our beloved Man of Masses NTR after 6 years.”

However, they faced many challenges. Elaborating further, the team mentioned that the pre-release event was scheduled very close to Ganesh Nimarjanam and large-scale events like this typically require at least a week of preparation. Salman Khan was in a steady relationship with actress Sangeeta Bijlani and the two were even set to tie the knot. Pooja, what brought on Maine Dil Se Kaha?

We either own our story or it owns us. Only when we gather the courage to own our history, own our legacy, are we able to write a brave new ending to our story. This is true for us as individuals, as a community, as a country. I was 17 years old when I made my first film, Daddy. The story of Daddy was very unusual. A 17-year-old girl saves her father from an addiction to alcohol and gives him salvation. Life is so ironical that I didn’t know that the same 17-year-old girl, who made a place in the hearts of people in her first film, would pass away at the age of 44. And she would have to battle addiction and save herself like she saved her father in the film, Daddy.

All this wouldn’t have been possible if my father hadn’t sent me a message. And the message was very simple. ‘Pooja, if you love me, then love yourself because I live in you.’ This message changed my life. My father never asked me to quit alcohol. But this message gave me salvation and a new beginning. It’s been eight years since I haven’t touched a single drop of alcohol.

It is brave of you to admit this?

I say this to people screaming and I share it because I want this word shame, which is associated with alcoholism, addiction. I want to erase this word shame. Alcoholism and addiction are not a moral weakness. It’s not a moral failing. Everyone has a different chemistry. And I think in our society, a man gets the opportunity to face his addictions and frailties. Talk about it. Go and heal yourself. Recover. And then society calls them back into the fray with a lot of love and respect.

What was the decisive reason for you to agree to this podcast?

Women who hide and lie and drink, how will they open up and recover? That’s why I thought it was very important that if we do a show where Bhatt and I dissect our own frailties and addictive personalities. And tell people how we came out of that darkness. It was important that both the male and female perspectives were presented to people. Because it’s not just a man’s property. It’s not just a woman’s property.

The podcast will address addiction from both perspectives?

That’s right. I said from my heart that there will be a very unfiltered, open-hearted dialogue with various guests, professionals and common people who face and fight this battle every day, because I believe that the opposite of addiction is not sobriety.

Then what is it?

The opposite of addiction is communication. We have somewhere become entangled with each other in this society and have developed an addiction to perfection. We all present ourselves to the audience through curated photographs, curated cuts and PR machinery, but heroes or heroines or role models are those who present their frailties to the people, who openly reveal their wounds to the world, so I felt that when I took this decision that I have to quit drinking, I have to be the best version of me, because as Bhatt sahab had told me in that message that if I love him then I need to love myself, and the only way I could love myself was first by removing alcohol from my life, and the day I took that one small step, then the whole nature inspired me and gave me a lot.

A recent report, which details poor working conditions and rampant sexual harassment faced by women in Malayalam-language cinema, is causing seismic upheavals in the entertainment industry in India.
But the messages of solidarity and support have come largely from women – and critics say the silence of powerful men, including India’s biggest and most loved stars, is deafening.
Based on testimonies from 51 people from the Kerala-based film industry, the Hema Committee report lays bare decades of exploitation and says that “women have been asked to make themselves available for sex on demand” and that they were constantly told to make “compromise and adjustments” if they wanted work.
The panel was set up in 2017 after Women in Cinema Collective (WCC), formed by a group of women working in the Malayalam cinema, petitioned the government after a top actress was sexually assaulted by a group of men allegedly at the behest of a top male actor.
Their 290-page report was released last month, with chunks redacted to hide the identities of the survivors and those accused of harassment.
But since its release on 19 August, several women have publicly spoken up about their ordeal and more than a dozen police complaints have been lodged against male stars, producers, directors and other influential men.
The state government has set up a special investigation team (SIT) to look into the allegations and the Kerala high court has asked the SIT to investigate the instances mentioned in the report, raising hopes that the survivors may after all get justice.

New Delhi: Actor-politician Kangana Ranaut says she was forced to sell off her property in Mumbai after the release of directorial venture

They are not making dadi-nani ki kahaniyaan (tales shared by our grandmothers). Our story is not based in modern times. Our film begins and ends in the period time. We have a rakshas, a demon. Without naming the actor, I did a film and touchwood it was such an amazing set. We had a great time, everyone performed very well. It was a well-made film.
