Actress Hina Khan, who became a household name because of her portrayal of Akshara in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, recently left her fans shocked. Being an avid social media user, she took to her official handle to inform her fans that she had been diagnosed with stage three breast cancer. Putting the rumours to rest, she confirmed the news and requested privacy as her treatment for the fatal disease had already begun.

On Monday, she took to her Instagram handle to share a video, where she was seen attending her first award ceremony, after her cancer diagnosis. Expressing how it was a “conscious choice” made by her to “normalise it,” she revealed that she went to her first chemo after attending the award function. Actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu, who has been undergoing treatment for her autoimmune condition, Myositis, reshared the video on her Instagram story and heaped praises on Khan. She wrote, “Praying for you, #Warrior.”

Resharing the video on her story, Hina showered Samantha with love and adoration in return. She wrote, “Takes one to know one… I know you’re an absolute star.. and the way you’ve handled all that life threw at you… is beyond amazing.. Lots of love and blessings (red heart emoji).”

Opening up about her Myositis diagnoses, Samantha had once revealed that it was “probably the worst thing to happen to an actor.” She had shared how at times, she will be puffy, sometimes fat, sometimes sick. She went on to tell Bollywood Bubble, during her interview, that she has become sensitive to light, which is why she has to wear glasses. Samantha also has to go through intense migraines and that her eyes have been swelling up with pain for the past 8 months.

A new chargesheet in the infamous Salman Khan house firing case has revealed some shocking details. It stated that gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang had issued a bounty of Rs 25 lakh to kill the actor and that he had planned to murder him in ‘Sidhu Moosewala style’.

In April this year, two bike-borne men fired several rounds at Salman’s Galaxy Apartment residence in Bandra, Mumbai, and it was later revealed that it was Bishnoi’s doing, who has a longstanding beef with the actor.

According to the chargesheet, the Bishnoi gang issued a contract of Rs 25 lakh to murder the actor and they had planned for it several months, from August 2023 to April 2024.

Not just that, but the Bishnoi gang also planned to get weapons and firearms from Pakistan, including AK-47s, AK-92s, M16 rifles, and the Turkish-made Zigana pistol — the weapon that was used to kill Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala in 2022.

According to the chargesheet, boys under the age of 18 were assigned the task to assassinate Salman, and they were waiting for orders from Goldie Brar and Anmol Bishnoi.

Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2898 AD featuring superstars Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone and Prabhas, released in theatres on Thursday and collected a whopping ₹ 95.3 crore on its opening day. On Sunday, the film collected ₹ 85 crore for all languages, reported Sacnilk. The impressive star cast of Kalki 2898 AD includes superstars Prabhas, Deepika Padukone along with film legends Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan. Disha Patani is also a part of the film. Kalki 2898 AD released in multiple languages on June 27.

Compared to previous blockbusters, Kalki 2898 AD‘s first-day nett collection exceeded last year’s top opener Jawan, starring Shah Rukh Khan, which earned ₹ 75 crore. Jawan amassed ₹ 640.25 crore nett in India and a total of ₹ 1,160 crore worldwide, as per Sacnilk.

In his review for NDTV, film critic Saibal Chatterjee gave the film 2.5 stars out of 5 and he wrote, “On the acting front, Prabhas leads the way and not only because the film revolves around him. His strong presence serves as a counterpoint to Amitabh Bachchan’s towering Ashwatthama – the deathless warrior is an eight-footer. The latter’s voice is, as always, an integral part of the character. Deepika Padukone, playing one of the central figures, is splendid as the pregnant woman on the run. Saswata Chatterjee, as the bad guy who shoots lethal laser rays from his fist, has his moments in a film that often lets spectacle overwhelm everything else that it is trying to convey about mankind and the dangers it faces due to its own profligate ways.”

With this, the two-day nett total of this sci-fi set against the backdrop of Mahabharata stands a little under the Rs 42 crore mark.

Kalki 2898 AD shows a solid hold on Friday

The film made gains in Mumbai circuit from the first day while North India maintained at first day levels. East India, where first day outperformed eased off a bit, as is the norm. The national chains  – PVRInox and Cinepolis – will end up with second day higher than the first whereas the smaller centres, will see some decline. This happens with Thursday releases, and the hold in collections on Friday is a healthy indication for the long run prospects of Kalki 2898 AD. The film will be looking to rake in another 25 crore on Saturday and then aim to get closer to the Rs 30 crore mark on Sunday.

The Saturday growth could be a little muted as the business will of course be impacted by the India vs South Africa World Cup finals, but the film should make up for that with bigger-than-usual gains on Sunday. The four-day weekend of Kalki 2898 AD will be in the North of Rs 95 crore, and the aim will be to get as close as possible to the Rs 100 crore mark.

‘Comedy Is Most Difficult Genre For Me’: Triptii Dimri Thanks Vicky Kaushal, Ammy Virk For Supporting Her During Bad Newz Shoot

The much-awaited trailer of Vicky Kaushal, Triptii Dimri and Ammy Virk’s Bad Newz was unveiled at an event in Mumbai on Friday. The Free Press Journal was present at the event. Directed by Anand Tiwari, the film is inspired by true events and it explores the funny side of a rare pregnancy phenomenon called ‘Heteropaternal Superfecundation’.

During the event, producer Karan Johar opened up about the most special thing about the film. He gushed, “I’m deeply emotional for the entire team of Bad Newz. This is a very exciting casting. Vicky, Ammy and Triptii just light up the screens. Triptii has now become the OG national crush. We all love Vicky and I had the pleasure of directing him Lust Stories. But working with him has always been a pleasurable experience. Ammy has had the best ‘kismat’ and he’s such a great guy to work with. This casting has been special. Also, the X factor of this film is its concept.”

Sharing his experience of working on the film as the lead, Vicky said, “We had a lot of fun. It has been such a joyful journey. The energy which you can see in the trailer, the same we carried everyday on the sets during shoot. With Triptii and Ammy, it was genuinely a joyride because there was never an ice to break among us. We were like kids on sets, doing masti and just like that the film got made. We are very excited to bring this film to you.”

Revealing why he said yes to the project, the actor stated, “Firstly, for me, shooting this film with Anand was like being at home. Secondly, the script was nice. The concept of the film is very new. As an actor, I’ve not explored comedy much. Apart from being a brilliant actor, Anand is a phenomenal director, especially when it comes to comedy. I felt good about surrendering myself to him as it was a comedy film. A lot of things were new to me.”

“Ek bar toh ek aadmi mere ghar mein hi ghus gaya. Ghanti baji, darwaza khola, ghar mein ghus gaya. Bola ‘sir meri script padhlo’, toh maine kaha yaar ‘kaun hai tu?’ (Once a man entered my house. The bell rang, the door opened, and he entered the house. He said, ‘Sir, read my script’, then I replied, ‘Who are you?’)” Kashyap said.

Anurag recalled that the stranger repeatedly requested him to read his script and the filmmaker kept asking about the man. The filmmaker-actor added that the man was telling him that the latter’s father was no more.

Hina Khan has confirmed that she has been diagnosed with stage three breast cancer. On Friday, the actress took to her Instagram handle to share the heartbreaking news with her fans. She shared that her treatment has already begun and assured all that she is “doing well”. Hina further mentioned that she would emerge strong as she also asked her fans to pray for her.

“Hello Everyone, To address the recent rumour, I want to share some important news with all the Hinaholics and everyone who loves and cares for me. I have been diagnosed with stage three breast cancer. Despite this challenging diagnosis, I wish to reassure everyone that I am doing well. Last month, the release date was postponed during the Lok Sabha Elections. Kangana is the lead actor, writer, director, and producer of Emergency. Manikarnika Films Production is behind the upcoming political drama. The film has been delayed multiple times; it was previously scheduled to be released on November 24, 2023.

Sonakshi Sinha and her longtime boyfriend, Zaheer Iqbal, got married in an intimate ceremony on June 23. A video of the ‘Heeramandi’ actor making her entry as a bride with phoolon ke chadar has emerged on social media. The couple had a civil wedding in the presence of their respective families and friends at her residence in Mumbai. After their low-key wedding, they hosted a lavish reception at Bastian, Mumbai.

The bridal entry video featured Sonakshi Sinha walking down the aisle surrounded by her family and friends, who were holding the phoolon ke chadar. Saqib Saleem was seen holding it for Sonakshi at the ceremony.

Annu Kapoor fails to recognise Kangana Ranaut when he was asked about her slap incident and here’s how the Queen actress reacted

Bollywood actor Annu Kapoor recently reacted to an incident involving actor-politician Kangana Ranaut being allegedly slapped by a CISF constable at the Chandigarh airport. Initially, Kapoor tried to avoid the topic by pretending not to recognize her. However, he eventually commented that she should have taken legal action. During a press conference for his upcoming film, Hamare Baarah, Kapoor was asked about the incident. He responded with feigned ignorance, asking, “Yeh Kangana ji kaun hain? Please batao na kaun hain? Zaahir hai aap pooch rahe hain toh koi bahut badi heroine hongi? Sundar hain kya? (Who is this Kangana? Is she a big heroine? Is she beautiful?)”

A media person then reminded him that Kangana is a newly elected Member of Parliament from Mandi. To this, Kapoor replied, “Oho woh bhi ho gayi! Abhi toh bahut shaktishaali ho gayi hain. She is powerful now).” When pressed further, Kapoor suggested that Kangana should pursue legal action against the CISF constable, noting that he would have done the same if he were in her position.

The incident occurred days after Kangana won the Lok Sabha election in Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, on a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ticket. She was travelling to New Delhi for a National Democratic Alliance meeting when she alleged that a CISF constable, Kulwinder Kaur, slapped her at the Chandigarh International Airport. Kangana claimed the assault was due to her recent comments on Khalistan. Following the incident, an FIR was filed against Kulwinder.

Filmmaker and actor Anurag Kashyap is currently being showered with praises by the audience for his antagonistic performance in Bad Cop. Having shed light on the rising entourage cost of the actors on the sets of the film, earlier, he has now spoken about the unreasonable demands made by certain actors. As reported by the Free Press Journal, the 51-year-old filmmaker, without taking the names of the actors, revealed that certain celebrities demand chefs that charge up to Rs 2 lakhs per day. Mumbai police arrest Banwarilal Gujar for threatening Salman Khan in a YouTube video, claiming gang association; remanded to custody until June 18

The Mumbai police’s Crime Branch has arrested Banwarilal Laturlal Gujar, a 25-year-old from Rajasthan, for allegedly threatening Bollywood actor Salman Khan through a YouTube video on the channel ‘Are Chhodo Yaar’. Gujar was brought to Mumbai and produced before a city court on Sunday, which remanded him to police custody until June 18.
According to the police, the complaint was filed after a viewer noticed a video on the ‘Aare Chhodo Yaar’ channel where a person, speaking in Hindi, claimed association with gang members Goldy Brar, Vivek Bhaiya, Rohit, and Jitin, and issued threats to Salman Khan. The content, transcribed by the police, included statements such as: “Ram Ram mere sabhi Bhaiyo (Ram Ram all my brothers)… Brothers, we are all brothers now, Goldy is my brother, Nitin, Vivek, Rohit, and Jitin, they all are here and there are many more brothers.” The video further stated, “Our intention was clear, what we want and it was shared but he is not listening. His ego gets hurt. He has an attitude and he has an ego. He considers himself Dabangg King Khan.”

The video continued with threats, “We will not tell him what is Khan and who is a fanatic Hindutva. Okay, there is no issue, we all brothers are available here… Today we have laid a trap, and we know what and where we have to do and what not to do, and what to do with whom… Whoever commits a mistake will pay the price. It does not affect us… We are searching for actor Salman Khan, and he is coming in the same line. Whether he has Y plus security or Z plus. The case was subsequently transferred to the Anti-Extortion Cell (AEC) for investigation.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted search operations on Wednesday on a Mumbai-based event management company as part of its ongoing probe into the case of “Fairplay,” a subsidiary app of the Mahadev Betting app.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted search operations on Wednesday on a Mumbai-based event management company as part of its ongoing probe into the case of “Fairplay,” a subsidiary app of the Mahadev Betting app. The event management company was allegedly involved in signing Bollywood celebrities for the promotion and endorsement of the betting app Fairplay.

According to sources, the ED recorded the statement of an individual from the event management company one month prior to the searches and made seizure at the premises of the company. The ED is currently scrutinizing the recovered documents, including contracts with celebrities for Fairplay promotion and endorsement, payment modes, transactions, and company-related details involving substantial payments made to celebrities to promote and endorse.

The ED initiated an investigation based on the FIR registered by the Maharashtra Cyber Police, Mumbai, following a complaint from M/s. Viacom18 Media Pvt. Limited. According to the shared investigation by Maharashtra Cyber Cell with the ED, the Cyber Cell recorded the statements of Prateek Singh Sisodia, also known as Badshah, and the managers of Sanjay Dutt and Jacqueline Fernandez. These statements were later shared with the ED.

During the investigation shared with the ED, the Cyber Cell revealed that actor Sanjay Dutt reportedly received a sum of Rs. 25 lakhs from the account of “Play Venture,” a Singapore-based gaming company, for FairPlay promotion and endorsement on his Instagram page and other social media platforms. Documents provided by Sanjay Dutt to the Cyber Cell indicated that Play Venture had contracts with GS Worldwide Entertainment company and Three Dimension Motion Pictures Private Limited. GS Worldwide approached him for the FairPlay promotion and endorsement.

This company is owned by the well-known film producer Guneet Walia, also known as Bunty Walia. According to the documents, Bunty Walia’s company, GS Worldwide Entertainment, also had a contract with Three Dimension Motion Pictures Private Limited. Notably, Gaurav Dubey, Sanjay Dutt’s manager, is one of the directors of Three Dimension Motion Pictures. These details were shared with the ED as part of the ongoing investigation.

Actress Jacqueline Fernandez allegedly received a significant sum from Dubai-based Trim General Trading LLC for endorsing and promoting FairPlay. The shared documents and contracts from Jacqueline to the Cyber Cell, which were later shared with the ED by the Cyber Cell, mentioned that Trim General Trading LLC has a contract with another Mumbai-based talent management company, Pals And Peers Entertainment Private Limited.

The Cyber Cell recorded the statement of the company director Prashant Narendra Gunjalkar. Trim General Trading LLC is primarily involved in import-export, dealing in various products including edible preparations, cereals, flour, starch, milk, dry fruits, and clothing accessories. The agency suspects that Trim General Trading LLC may be a front for money laundering activities related to the betting business empire of the Mahadev subsidiary app Fairplay.

The local police FIR has claimed that CISF constable Kulwinder Kaur stopped newly-elected BJP MP Kangana Ranaut at the Mohali airport and slapped her. The FIR is based on the complaint given by Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) Inspector who was escorting Kangana Ranaut. In his complaint, Inspector Surendra Kumar Sharma has told Punjab Police that Kaur came out from her frisking booth and slapped Ranaut. It also states that Kaur was pushed by a woman police constable to protect Ranaut.

According to the FIR accessed by News18, Ranaut was escorted by four staffers including CISF inspector, 2 women police staffers and Vistara airline staff.

The FIR says, “It is submitted that on 6 June Miss Kangana Ranaut (Film actress and newly elected MP From Mandi Himachal Pradesh) was travelling from Chandigarh to Delhi by Vistara Flight No UK-707(STD-1545hrs). At about 1526 hrs, she cleared PESC (pre-embarkation security check) formalities duly assisted by CISF SHA Inspector (Surendra Kumar Sharma, lnspector/Executive), CISF Lady officer (Constable Suneet Kumar), local police lady officer (lady Constable Veerpal Kaur) and airlines staff.”

“After completion of PESC (pre-embarkation security check), she was proceeding towards boarding gate at about 1528 hrs and in the meantime, CISF Lady Constable Kulwinder Kaur who was also deployed in the Domestic SHA (adjacent ladies frisking booth) came out from her frisking booth and slapped Miss Kangana Ranaut. Immediately, lady Constable Kulwinder Kaur was pushed by Lady Constable Veerpal Kaur towards frisking booth. Later, Kangana Ranaut left PESC point and proceeded for her scheduled flight. In this regard, it is requested to lodge an FIR against CISF lady Constable/GO’ Kulwinder Kaur for her misbehavior with Miss Kangana Ranaut,” Surendra Kumar Sharma said in his complaint, based on which the FIR has been filed.

The police said that they checked the CCTV footage of the incident as well. Police said that Ranaut was stopped by Kaur who slapped her and misbehaved with her too.

A video has surfaced where after the incident, Kulwinder Kaur is seen speaking to a passenger asking about the reason of slapping Kangana Ranaut. The constable replied, “She (Kangana) said that during farmer protest, women were sitting there for Rs 100. When she gave this statement, my mother was sitting there. Will Kangana sit at the protest?”

New Delhi: Newly elected MP and actor Kangana Ranaut was slapped by a Central Industrial Security Force constable in Chandigarh airport, allegedly over “disrespecting farmers”. Ms Ranaut, who won the Lok Sabha election from Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi, was about to board a flight for Delhi when the incident happened.
The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) constable who allegedly slapped the new MP has been identified as Kulwinder Kaur. She has been suspended, and a first information report (FIR) has been filed against her.

After slapping Ms Ranaut, the paramilitary constable allegedly told the actor-turned-MP it was for “disrespecting farmers”, alluding to the 15-month-long protest by farmers against the (now scrapped) farm laws and other issues including a legal guarantee of minimum support price in 2020-21.

Mobile footage shows Ms Ranaut being escorted by a ring of security officers towards the security check-in, where she is seen talking to some CISF officers.

The CISF Commandant has taken note of the incident, and is questioning the constable, sources said. One of her aides has also informed the local police, sources said.

Ms Ranaut did not talk to reporters after landing in Delhi. Earlier today, she had posted a photo on Instagram captioned, “On my way to parliament. Mandi ki sansad.”

In a video statement on X later this evening, Ms Ranaut said she is safe, but is concerned about rising terrorism in Punjab.

“I am safe. I am perfectly fine. The incident happened at the security check-in. The woman guard waited for me to cross. She then came from the side and hit me. She started throwing expletives. I asked why she hit me. She said ‘I support farmers’. I am safe, but my concern is terrorism is rising in Punjab. How do we handle that?” Ms Ranaut said.

The CISF constable said she was upset with Ms Ranaut over the actor-turned-MP’s “Rs 100” statement during the farmers’ protest. “She had given a statement that the farmers are sitting there for ₹ 100. Will she go and sit there? My mother was sitting there and protesting when she gave this statement,” the constable said.

Ms Ranaut in December 2020 had posted the “Rs 100” comment on X, after seeing an elderly woman who she said was “available for ₹ 100”, suggesting she can be hired to attend protests.

The Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee’s chief Manjinder Singh Sirsa had said Ms Ranaut should give an “unconditional apology” within a week. The actor has later deleted that post too.

The source, speaking exclusively to Free Press Journal, revealed that the three women, who are now claiming to be victims, had gathered outside Raveena’s residence and were the ones who initiated the altercation by hurling abuses at the actress’ driver. “If the driver had injured them first, why didn’t they go to the police station and file an FIR?” the source questioned, further stating that the accusations against the driver were also false.

The source added more details about the incident, stating, “While Raveena was trying to calm the mob down, a man came out of nowhere and slapped her hard. Manoj Bajpayee is one of the most sought-after actors of his generation in the Hindi film industry. Having started his journey with theatre, he often opens up about his humble beginnings, He moved to Delhi from Bihar at a young age to pursue his dream with Rs 120 in his pocket, given to him by his father, and tirelessly worked for around 18 hours. During a recent interaction with Sushant Sinha on YouTube, he also revealed that he had to learn Hindi and English after coming to Delhi. Recalling how every day was a ‘new challenge’ back then, he added, “It varied from rent, monthly expenses, bus fare, food and to make sure to attend theatre every day and learn the craft. This was my life for 10 years.”

Hailing from the village of Bettiah, Manoj stated that he travelled by train for over 2 days with her friend’s brother from Bihar to Delhi with Rs 120. He added, “We were young, so we had the ability to bear the physical exhaustion, but there wasn’t enough maturity. It was very hard to keep up mental sanity with the kind of challenges we went through every day. I had to learn Hindi, English. There was this professor in drama school, she came and said, ‘First fix his language and then we will do the rehearsals’, that came as a shock to me.”

The 55-year-old actor went on to share how he took the help of his friends to buy him food when he did not have the money after buying a bus pass. He added. “Back in the room, we were five of us, so they used to cook food, some or the other person used to cover for me. I just had a kurta, leather slippers, and a pair of jeans. This was all I had. I kept all of this in a tin box, which I still have with me. Everything I had used to fit in that tin box.”

Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon has been accused of abusing and assaulting three persons in Mumbai’s Bandra suburb in the late hours of Saturday and a video of the actress being surrounded and attacked by locals has gone viral on the internet.

As per initial information, Raveena’s driver has been accused of rash driving and hitting three persons at Carter Road near Rizvi College, and when confronted, the actress allegedly got out of her car in a drunken state and abused and assaulted the victims.

In the video that has now gone viral, the victims and locals can be seen having surrounded Raveena and calling the police. “You will have to spend the night in jail. My nose is bleeding,” one of the victims can be heard saying.

Raveena requested the people to not record videos and as the locals attacked her, she can be heard saying in the video, “Don’t push. Please don’t hit me.”

Later, a man, who identified himself as Mohammed, a resident of Bandra, can be seen narrating the entire ordeal on video. He stated that his mother, sister and niece were passing by Rizvi College when Raveena’s driver ran over his mother.

But when it was made and released, people rejected it outright there and then. So everybody has the right to criticise. You cannot stop anybody from commenting or criticising. So it’s all about your state of mind.”

Reacting to those pointing out mistakes in the series, the actor said, “It’s a vision and nobody promised you that this is going to be this. It’s Bansali’s vision. He wants to portray things as per his vision. He’s a genius and we followed him. As far as real or unreal, it’s a debatable issue. We thoroughly enjoyed it and the masses are loving it. Attorneys for Donald Trump have sent a cease and desist letter to the filmmakers behind “The Apprentice” in an effort to block its U.S. sale and release. It warns the team behind the film not to pursue a distribution deal, according to two people who have read the letter. “The Apprentice,” which looks at Trump’s early years as a real estate developer and his relationship with Roy Cohn, premiered at the Cannes Film Festival this week.

“The film is a fair and balanced portrait of the former president,” the producers of the film said in a statement regarding the cease-and-desist letter. “We want everyone to see it and then decide.”

The movie, which was independently produced, stars Sebastian Stan as Trump and Jeremy Strong as Cohn. It presents a damning portrait of the former president as an ethically compromised, philanderer who stiffs contractors and cuts deals with the mob to get his buildings completed. It includes other controversial details, including a scene where Trump rapes his first wife, Ivana, and depicts him abusing amphetamines to lose weight, as well as undergoing liposuction and plastic surgery.

Trump’s camp responded with a blistering note, threatening legal action. “This ‘film’ is pure malicious defamation, should not see the light of day, and doesn’t even deserve a place in the straight-to-DVD section of a bargain bin at a soon-to-be-closed discount movie store, it belongs in a dumpster fire,” Steven Cheung, Trump campaign communications director, said in a statement.

He recently appeared in a popular comedy show called ‘Pretty Good Roast’ hosted by comedian Aashish Solanki. In the roast, Solanki did some jokes on Ashneer Grover’s removal from his own company BharatPe, a clip of which is now in wide circulation on social media.

The comedian revealed that the jokes didn’t sit well with the guest and he asked his bits to be removed from the video. Later, Solanki also received a legal notice to take down the entire video. The comedian obliged.

Singer Udit Narayan is elated that his song Papa Kehte Hain is now a part of actor Rajkummar Rao-starter Srikanth. He exclusively spoke to us about the iconic melody and how it continues to win hearts.

“While composing the song we felt there was something about it, something very special. But we never imagined it would go so far,” says singer Udit Narayan.

As the song resonates with a whole new generation of fans by its inclusion as the theme song of the Srikanth Bolla bio-pic , Udit says he is surprised by how far Papa kehta hai nbada naam karega has gone.

The music composer was supposed to be Rahul Dev Burman, but it was actually Anand-Milind.

Recalls Udit, “The producer Nasir Hussain Saab who was the director Mansoor’s son, had always worked with Pancham Dada (RD). He wanted Mansoor to work with Pancham Dada. But Mansoor couldn’t vibe with Pancham Dada. He opted for the newcomers, brothers Anand-Milind who are the sons of the late composer Chitragupta. And what a score Anand-Milind gave!”

Udit gives credit for Papa kehte hain where it is due. “No singer can lift a bad composition. It is because Anand-Milind came up with such a winsome tune that Papa kehte hain became so special. I am so happy it is such an integral part of the film Srikanth , and that too in the original voice. Mine! It would be unbearable for me to hear someone else sing it.”

The Max prequel series “Dune: Prophecy” has cast legendary Indian actress Tabu in a recurring role, Variety has learned exclusively.

The series was originally commissioned in 2019 under the title “Dune: The Sisterhood.” It is inspired by the novel “Sisterhood of Dune” written by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson. The official logline states, “Set within the expansive universe of ‘Dune,’ created by acclaimed author Frank Herbert, and 10,000 years before the ascension of Paul Atreides, ‘Dune: Prophecy’ follows two Harkonnen sisters as they combat forces that threaten the future of humankind, and establish the fabled sect that will become known as the Bene Gesserit.”

The series has yet to set a premiere date.

Tabu will recur in the role of Sister Francesca. The character is described as “Strong, intelligent, and alluring, Sister Francesca leaves a lasting impression in her wake. Once a great love of the Emperor, her return to the palace strains the balance of power in the capital.”

Tabu is one of the most celebrated actresses in the history of Indian cinema. She has won the National Film Award for best actress twice — one for “Maachis” and the other for “Chandni Bar.” She has likewise received recognition for her roles in films like “Cheeni Kum,” “Haider,” and “Andhadhun,” and has received seven Filmfare Awards. Tabu has also appeared in productions including “Life of Pi,” “The Namesake,” and the BBC miniseries “A Suitable Boy.”

She is repped by Neon Kite and United Agents.

“Dune: Prophecy” will also star: Emily Watson, Olivia Williams, Travis Fimmel, Johdi May, Mark Strong, Sarah-Sofie Boussnina, Josh Heuston, Chloe Lea, Jade Anouka, Faoileann Cunningham, Edward Davis, Aoife Hinds, Chris Mason, and Shalom Brune-Franklin. The Madhya Pradesh High Court issued a notice to Bollywood actor Kareena Kapoor Khan on a petition against her new pregnancy memoir “Kareena Kapoor Khan’s Pregnancy Bible.” The notice was issued after an advocate approached the court against the use of the word “bible” in the book’s title.
A single-judge bench of Justice Gurpal Singh Ahluwalia issued the notice on advocate Christopher Anthony’s petition to register a case against Ms Khan as well as the book’s sellers. The court has sought an answer from the actor on why the word “bible” was used in the title.

Notices have also been issued to the sellers of the books after Mr Anthony demanded a ban on the book’s sale in his petition.

Mr Anthony, a social worker from Jabalpur, has alleged in his petition that the use of the word “bible” in the book’s title is hurtful to the sentiments of the Christian community. “Bible is the holy book of Christianity all over the world and it is wrong to compare Kareena Kapoor Khan’s pregnancy with the Bible,” he said. Mr Anthony says the actor used the word to gain “cheap publicity” for her book.

The book, published in 2021, chronicles the 43-year-old actor’s pregnancy journey and provides tips for expecting mothers.

The petitioner had first approached the police to register a First Information Report (FIR) against the actor but when they refused to file a case, he moved a lower court to file a complaint against her.

His request was rejected after the court said his petition failed to establish how the use of the word “bible” in the title was offensive. He then moved the Additional Sessions Court which dismissed his petition.
