Body in parcel: Andhra Pradesh cop’s suspect woman’s relative behind act

In a breakthrough in the body delivered as parcel in West Godavari, the Andhra Pradesh police identified the dead as Barle Parlayya, a labourer from nearby Gadhinagaram village.

On December 19, a woman named Sagi Tulasi in a village in West Godavari received a wooden box containing a body.

The police launched an investigation and suspected Sagi Tulasi’s brother-in-law, Sridhar Varma, behind it. Since the incident, Sridhar Varma has been on the run. The police believe he may have fled to Hyderabad and a special team has been sent to nab him.

Sources within the West Godavari police said Sridhar Varma, who allegedly married three times using different names, is suspected of murdering Parlayya, a relative of his first wife. Police said the motive behind the murder and the parcel delivery will come to light only after Varma is taken into custody.
