Bhagwant Mann to take oath as 17th Punjab CM today, oath taking at Khatar Kalan
Preparations are underway for the swearing-in ceremony of Bhagwant Mann in Bhagat Singh’s ancestral village Khatkar Kalan. The oath taking ceremony will take place on Wednesday. The event will take place in the area of almost 100 acres with parking space for 25,000 cars.
Chandigarh: Bhagwant Mann will take oath as the next Punjab chief minister on Wednesday, i.e. March 16. The swearing-in ceremony will take place in Khatkarkalan in Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar district. Khatkarkalan is the ancestral village of freedom fighter Bhagat Singh. Preparations are in full swing for the swearing-in ceremony in Khatkarkalan village.
Notably, from Chief Secretary to Director General of Police, all are involved in the preparations. The ceremony will take place at the venue of over 100 acres. Around four to five lakh people are expected to attend the ceremony. Out of the total area, almost 50 acres is reserved for the main event, while the remaining area will be for parking. The parking space could accommodate around 25,000 cars. According to reports, standing crop across 100 acre of land was cleared for the swearing-in ceremony. VIP guests have also not been invited for the oath taking ceremony.
Addressing the people of Punjab, Mann in a video message said that they all would work together towards fulfilling Bhagat Singh’s dream on March 16 and would give shape to the vision of the freedom fighter. He added that the newly elected Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) would be the government of the people. In the video uploaded on his official Twitter handle, Mann stated, “Not only me three crore people of Punjab will also take oath along with me.”
