The Badrinath Nagar Panchayat launched an extensive cleaning driver to restore the holy shrine and its surroundings after welcoming over 47 lakh devotees this season. A dedicated team of 50 ‘Paryavaran Mitra’ collected 1.5 tonnes of waste from key areas, including Brahm Kapal, Astha Path, Tapt Kund, Main Bazaar, and Mana village.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, a vocal proponent of cleanliness at Char Dham shrines, applauded the efforts. The municipality disposed of 110 tonnes of inorganic waste collected during the Yatra season.

On November 18, the sacred thrones of Uddhav, Kuber, and Shankaracharya began their winter journey from Badrinath Dham. Accompanied by an army band and rights holders, the palanquins departed for their designated locations, halting overnight at Pandukeshwar. Uddhav Ji and Kuber Ji will stay at the Yogadhyan Temple for winter worship, while Shankaracharya Ji’s throne has been placed in the Narsingh Temple at Joshimath. According to the scriptures, worship will continue for six months by humans and six months by gods.
