Anupam Kher has broken silence about The Kapil Sharma Show controversy about The Kashmir Files promotions. The actor spoke openly about the same and cleared some air.
Vivek Agnihotri’s film The Kashmir Files starring legendary actor Anupam Kher and Pallavi Joshi roaring everywhere. The film narrates the sensitive issue about the exodus and killings of Kashmiri Hindus from the state in the 1990s. The film has received a humongous response from critics and fans, especially touching the heart of every Kashmiri Pundit in the country.
Before the release of the film, it heaped controversy when the filmmaker Vivek openly said that they were not invited or allowed to promote the film on The Kapil Sharma Show. Vivek had taken to his Twitter account and expressed disappointment about the same. His tweet read, ” They refused to call us on there because we don’t have commercial star #FACT”. And bow the angry fans are demanding to boycott the show.”
However, in an exclusive chat with Times Now, Anupam Kher has reacted to the controversy and shed some light on the matter, The actor said that he was called on the show but he chose not to go as he thought it won’t be appropriate to promote a film surrounding such a delicate topic at a comedy show, ” I had received an invite to come on the show. I have visited there many times in the past. Ye film bari serious hai, I do not want to be a part of the show. But I have to say, Kapil does not have any malice towards us or towards the film.”
