Puri Rath Yatra: The rituals involving three sibling deities – Lord Jagannath, Devi Subhadra and Lord Balabhadra – will be held in a single day on Sunday. This year, the Rath Yatra- related rituals like ‘Nabajouban Darshan’ will also take place in a single day – July 7.
The Odisha government has made elaborate arrangements for the smooth conduct of the festival. The rath yatra, which usually is organized in a single day, will be held for two days this year due to some celestial arrangements. The last time the pilgrim town witnessed a two-day event which was in 1971.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended greetings on the occasion.
In a post on X, PM Modi said: “We bow to Mahaprabhu Jagannath and pray that His blessings constantly remain upon us”.
